Guys who seem like ravens, guys who don't

19 posts in this topic

Self explanatory.

Starting with guys projected top ten ( or thereabouts).

The two that, to me seem most like ravens are Shaq Lawson and Vernon Hargreaves. I will throw in Sterling Shepard as a round two guy.

Bosa does not.

Why do you think Bosa doesn't play like a Raven. High motor does the dirty work sets the edge rushes the passer he reminds me of a more athletic better pass rushing Jarrett Johnson.

Later rounds that fit the Raven mold:

Maliek Collins (DT)

Carl Nassib (DE)

Willie Beavers (OT)

Pharoh Cooper (WR)

Sterling Shepard (WR)

Graham Glasgow (OG/C)

Joe Dahl (G)

Dieondre' Hall (CB)

cant put my fingers on it, but these 2 just screams Raven type players to me..

su'a cravens

le'raven clark

I'm not sold on either player Clark was manhandled by everyone at the senior bowl poor technique I would pass even later in the draft. Cravers I have never been a fan of I think he doesn't have a true position probably to small to be a LB and probably not athletic enough to be a S and I don't like that he is telling teams he will not work out or them to figure out which position best suits him.

my immediate thoughts on Ravens type players are:

Jordan Jenkins, Edge, Georgia

Pharaoh Cooper, WR, South Carolina,

Sterling Shephard, WR, Oklahoma

Josh Garnett, OG, Stanford

Matt Ionnadis, DL, Temple

Yannick Ngakoue, Edge, Maryland

Darian Thompson, S, Boise St.

I strongly agree with you on Pharoh Cooper. I would add Joe Schobert to your list.

I think bosa absolutely seems like a ravens guy. Low key, selfless, hard worker, high motor, fundamentals, iq, leader.

Not sure where your opinion on Bosa came from

Not denying anything, I would just like to know how you know he's a leader, or where you've read it? Because his interviews are awful, so that made me doubt his motivation and leadership.

I was also wondering where it was said he was a good leader. I never heard anything to say he is/isn't to be honest.

All I can say is that he sounds like a jock meat-head lol

I hate the idea of a "leader". Leader can mean many things. Vocal leader, a leader who gets everyone in the right spot, or a person who makes plays consistently. A vocal leader that comes into mind is Ray Lewis. Joe Flacco is a completely different leader who makes the plays when needed in the play offs and at the end of games, Suggs is a defensive leader because he makes consistent plays on defense because of his pass rush and setting the edge ability. Being a leader is so vague.. Suggs is a goon and jokes around. Flacco is very quiet and his monotone voice makes a lot of fans come off "boring". Bosa just because he sounds like a surfer skater dude that smokes weed and skates on the coast does not mean he is not a leader. He has been the most disruptive player in college football and he has done it with a high motor and ability and has made clutch plays at the end of games. No he will most likely not be a Ray Lewis, but he could be like Ed Reed. The quiet one but makes plays consistently that keeps us in games.

On film he looks like a guy who leads by example. His team clearly respects him, he produces results and he's a team player. He doesn't need to be a vocal leader to be a leader.

It's all very subjective. He strikes me frankly as the antithesis of selfless.

Shepard - gritty shifty opportunist.

Bosa relentless motor but so far he has prove he can be effective in space ?

Boyd will strike his on the ground to make a catch

Drake hybrid whom can see holes and hit them.

Henry would bould over opponents in route to goalpost but needs space to operate. Zone blocking lends itself to it.

Hargreaves will make ed reed like plays but must be supported on the backend with smart intelligent safety bait play.

Cravens has ball hawking skills and smouthmouth method of bringing his opponent swiftly to the ground.

Treadwell plays like Boldin with a bigger body. Utilized correctly mismatch nightmare.

Nkemdeche is a beast with ?'s out the Y-zoo.

Tunsil is baby Ogden with technical upside. Body type for zone but maybe maxxxed out body wise.

the list continues………………………….

I would easily say Bosa, Lawson, Ramsey, and Alexander. They just all are hard working, competitive, and instinctive guys that play tough ball. I could very easily see any of them in Black and Purple.
