[News] Ravens View Ronnie Stanley As 'Elite' Left Tackle

16 posts in this topic

Highly doubt the FO is going to say anything negative about the top 15 prospects in the draft......As they all have the potential to make a huge impact, just a matter of who is there at #6 and what our priorities are.....If we did end up with him, not sure its a horrible thing, as we are going to want to replace Monroe at some time, and with Monroe's injury history with us, you never know if it would be sooner rather than later for someone like him to slide right into the line-up...And with picking early in the all our rounds we will get some really good talent in rounds 2 and 3 IMO....but...i do hope we go DE/OLBer with our 1st pick......JMO....

I'm still not convinced we'd take him...especially throwing him in at LT with Flacco coming off an injury. I guess you could play him at guard like we did with Ogden, and keep Monroe at LT, and let him gain experience...But I think there's too many good picks on defense we could use.

well,we all know we sorely missed the pass rush when SUGGS went down,it got us to a superbowl,we can still get a real nice tackle alittle later.

Well, the Ravens are leaving no stone unturned to pick the best player 'for the Ravens' at #6. A whole host of variables go into such a decision, because I honestly cannot foresee the Ravens picking this high anytime soon. So, the pressure is on them to get it right and draft the best Ravens type players they can who are not just studs but effective and productive studs.

Ronnie Stanley is not elite enough for pick 6. He looked like a JV kid at the combine compared to Tunsil...He's a great pick but not at 6. Please Ravens, do not pick him unless we have traded back and he's still there. Too much value elsewhere for a real game changing playmaker at pick six.

However if we lose out on a buckner, jack or bosa.... to trade back and take Stanley... we had better get at least a 3rd and another pick on top of it all. I would really want a 2nd if we moved out of the top 10

So what is more important than protecting your QB blind side?

I know most fans (i.e. me) want a impact Defensive player, but Stanley would be a safe pick, and could probably start year 1

I don't think the issue is that fans are against drafting a LT--we know exactly how important that position is after watching Hurst struggle to play it for the past 2 years. The problem most of us have is reaching for a LT who doesn't provide much push in the ground game and who lacks the meanness that you like from an O-lineman.

I would be elated if we drafted Tunsil at #6, for example, and I would be pretty satisfied if we traded down to like #15 (Rams) and drafted Ramsey, but I would not be happy about reaching for a LT just because we need one, thus getting poor value.
