[News] Ravens Interviewed Pass Rusher Noah Spence 'At Length'

36 posts in this topic

I only see them drafting Spence if we trade back in the draft...too many good players with out the issues to take him early, and I think he'll be gone by our 2nd pick(#36).

can you imagine Ohio States defense with both Bosa and Spence. They could have won a national title......oh wait, they DID. Maybe TWO national titles.

Elliot is the way to go. Amazing running back who can pass block. Forsett is old West back up at best. Allen is the only back on the roster that I can see on the roster after this year. Ravens love to run the ball and we have a chance to get a great back

I like what Spence is saying about his past and how he's managing himself for the future. I think he's over that part of his life and the lesson was learned, Question is what other teams feel this way - including the Ravens. If they target him will they be able to get away with a trade back for more picks and still land him? That's the trick. However, elite pass rushers are deep this year and whoever they grab with #6 pick will likely be a stud.

elite pass rushers are deep? Bosa is a likely pick at 6, he will not survive past 10, then it goes Lawson, Dodd, and Spence. Those are the only elite to very good pass rushers. It falls off quick.

i'm all for second chances, hey, were all young once,if he really got away from those people,it shouldn't present a problem when he gets big money,i just want a good hearted guy with a high motor.

No way they take Spence at 6, he is just too big a risk, however, I think we could grab Hargreaves at 6 (if Ramsey isn't available) then move back up into the first round and grab Spence before anyone else does. I think the off-field questions about him force him to the very end of the first round or early in the second. I can see them not moving up from 6 to 3 or 4 to get Ramsey because of the cost, but when you are at 36, it will only cost one of those many fourth rounders to move back up into the first round. That still leave 3 fourth rounders but at that point we have a shut down corner and Spence is a top 5 pick who will drop. I had a lot of faith that the Ravens have the ability to work with these guys as they have really done well with Jernigan and a few others but then the Hill suspension was devastating. The Ravens were stoked they were going to be able to put Weddle and Hill out there and then the Hill news broke and now its once bitten twice shy with Spence.

We've given will Hill, nick Boyles and asa Jackson second chances and they've blown up in our faces...I'd like to believe we'd give Spence a shot, irregardless, but I think we'd have to trade back up into the lower 1st round to do it...can't see him there at #36...Don't know if the Raven's would give up 2 draft picks for a guy with his history, even though he's saying all the correct things.

Would love to double-dip at the edge and go Bosa and then Spence in round 2. Our pass rush would be so incredibly beastly: Suggs, Doom, Bosa, Spence... maybe Ochi :D Opposing teams had better not let themselves get caught in 3rd and long!

If we're going with Spence, It will have to be in the first round. He got himself in trouble, but he's too talented to drop into the 2nd round. Shane Ray got drafted in the 1st and he got caught with weed just before the draft.

Had just thought the same but I was thinking trade back, get Lawson and grab Spence if he's there at our second

With the age and health of Suggs and the age and contract of Doom double dipping here would set us up nice for the future... and make us pretty scary right now!

Getting Spence in the 2nd w/ one of these guys in the first; Jack, Buckner or Hargreaves, I'm a happy camper!!!

Spence will not last until # 36... I would love it if he does but elite pass rushers don't stick around that long... regardless of a questionable hx... The skill set is in such high demand that exceptions are made for these guys... look at Aldon Smith, Greg Hardy and others).... heck Shane Rey failed a drug test last year (the week of the draft) and he didn't fall all too far! I agree with you. I would love to see spence fall to us in the 2nd but I believe that if we are after spence... we will need to trade back and grab him in the first and then make the most out of the extra draft pick or picks that we land for moving back!

I think Oakman and Travis Feeney (who will both be available later) can both be elite pass rushers in this league!

I can't see Oakman developing fast enough for us. Feeney is very interesting player but probably best fit at 43 OLB.

Spence would be worth the risk at 36, but not at 6, I really like Bosa or Buckner , at 6, but you know Oz , we could be in for a big surprise...

I like Spence more than Buckner and Bosa.. if Stanley is the top talent left on the board at #6 we should trade back and take spence. possibly swooping a Le'raven Clark in the 2nd and a sterling Shepard in the 3rd... a ravens fan can dream right.

LOL Buckner is the 3rd best paler in this draft! Spencer is not.

I would like to see us trade back to about 16'ish and grab Spence and acquire more darts. Spence won't last past 18 when the Bills pick. Use a third round dart on Kolby Listenbee. Listenbee won't last past NE's third round comp pick they got for Revis, he won't make it to us in the fourth.

How are we going to draft him? He's not worth the #6 pick for sure and he's not going to last till pick #36 either. I don't know if we are going to trade back up in the first to draft him, but if we do I won't have any complaints because we get a 5th year option for him. The reason I say that is because I'm convinced he'll be a very successful pass rusher in the league.

Spence could be our selection in the scenario where no QB is selected before our pick and we trade back. A QB needy team like the Eagles, Rams or Broncos (who have ten picks) would need our pick to get in on the Wentz/Goff sweepstakes, the 49ers take whoever falls in their lap.

Agreed. Buckner any day over Spence. Problem is the Chargers are also interested in him. Got a bad feeling that both him and Bosa will be gone by #6.

i think feeney is a good enough athlete that he will be a star in a 4-3, a 3-4 or any D.... his big thing is just staying healthy!

i like buckner but i am not ready to call him the 3rd best player in the draft? I think Ramsey, zeke and tunsil are clearly ahead of buckner at this point (if not others) but i agree that he is ahead of spence and may have one of the highest ceilings
