2016 Baltimore Orioles

Steve, you put a sawx video in an Orioles thread. Is you crazy?   lol   Just kidding.

By the time a pitcher is in the majors he has played in hundreds, probably thousands of games and scrimmages. Most every play that happens in a game has come up somewhere along the line. And pitchers are taught from Day 1 the techniques to finish in position to field properly. They are athletes and not unprepared.

Thats why Buck should tell Britton not to field those balls again. Its too risky. Managers must discipline certain players like my idea tell Britton next time you field a ball on the foul line to make a play it will cost you $5000. The reason for that is Britton has a very important role thats to close out the game. O's just don't have a great closer unlike Britton. Pitchers like O'Day and Givens cannot close games out like Britton does. Remember Don Stanhouse who used to blow games? Why you think Weaver let him go and Tippy closes games out? Stanhouse would walk the bases loaded and strike everybody out. Cant have that. Thats why Britton is important pitcher O's have..We cant afford to lose him. So thats why if i was manager id discipline Britton warning him next time he makes a risky play it will cost him $5000!

Nice baseball game for all the moms! Chicks love the long ball. :P

And I think the next time Adam Jones makes a diving catch he should be fined $10,000. We need him in the outfield and he should not be taking chances like that.

Buck Showalter?

Funny! No one can close out the game like Britton can. Thats why i want him restricted from making dangerous plays that could injure him.

We could get Tippy Martinez to come out of retirement until Britton got off the DL.

Thats my point... You don't let him do dangerous plays if ball rolls over to that line off a bunt you let it go and take your chances the rest of way in 9th.

That is some nostalgia there

No one else saw us come back from 5 runs down thanks to the Detroit bullpen?

Awesome come back and the best part for me was that we actually did it without hitting a home run. That was a nice change.

Sometimes I come on here and wonder if people intentionally troll. Like, are they truly like this in person?

I'm still trying to figure it out.

I think we've shown we can win in multiple ways, with or without good starting pitching, with or without the long ball.  I like our guys.

I don't actually think the starting pitching is all that terrible. It's obviously not great, but it's definitely not as bad as I'm accustomed to seeing from when I was a child (10, 15 years ago).

Chris Tillman has finally settled in, Tyler Wilson has been unspectacular, but delivers some good starts, and if Guasman can get healthy, he's clearly the best pitcher the Orioles have.

The only two I worry about are Jimenez and Wright, but Wright should be bounced out of the starting rotation by midseason if Dylan Bundy can stay healthy and just get acclimated to the majors. He's been really getting there and had a few quality outings, so hopefully by July/August, he'll be starting.

As far as hitters go, the only major concern I have is that Trumbo usually does really well in April/May, but falls off after that. We'll see if he can sustain this level of play or not.

Tillman and Gausman have both done very well as of late.  Like you said, Wilson is unspectacular, but I think he's getting a little more confident.  Ideally, he's your 5th starter that likely gets bumped in and out of the rotation as needed.  Jimenez is the big issue right now, and we have to hope Gallardo is over this ailment and his velocity picks back up when he returns.

The biggest issue with the rotation is we're missing that ace.  Gausman could get there, but right now, there's no one that I feel confident in every time he pitches.

My favorite phrase.

Right now we're on a good roll and a lot of that is cuz of good starting pitching which to me is the most critical part. Our defense and hitting is gonna stay strong so the starting pitching............. Right now Wright and Wilson are doing a fine job but can they maintain.

It was Rickards fault why they lost. If he caught the ball in the 4th inning would been 3rd out with only 2 runs he caused 2 runs scored extra out given to them. This is why Buck should be FIRED! If was the Chef Buck should been gone long time ago. And new manager would done what i say. Rickard DH!!! Just like George Steinbrener told Billy Martin REGGIE BATS 4th!! Go rent movie Bronx is burning and you'll get what George and Billy fight was all about

Its True sir!!! Theres a reason why minor leagues are there for. Minor leagues means you earn your way to the majors or you're not good enough for majors. And Rickard is just a minor leaguer.

I think firing one of the best managers in baseball is definitely the best way to make it to the World Series.
