If O's lose at Toronto FIRE BUCK!!! They could have wrap it up yesterday. Buck had to leave Wiley in so if they lose Tuesday it should cost him his job

Huh, I thought they lost yesterday because our bats had nothing but journeymen and call-ups to face and could only manage 3 runs ... along with the fact that the BP let in the majority of the runs. Miley pitched well enough to win.

This insanity also makes the leap that if we lose in Toronto, we automatically would have won at home.

Didn't we just take 2 out of 3 from them in Toronto? I know that

I know - that's never happened before ... at least not recently ... if recently means in the past 48 hours.

He gave up tying homer. Why didn't Buck pull him out?

OK - but the conventional wisdom involved bringing in Brach ... who promptly coughed up 4 runs. That's where we lost the game. But let me guess, he wouldn't have given up those runs had we had a lead but gave them up because the game was tied?

@Steve0x ... we reel off 7 of 9 wins to finish the season ... including 2 of 3 in Toronto and 2 of 3 in NY ... and we needed every bit of it to get in and you're belly aching that we didn't sweep the Yanks to get this one-game playoff at home? Man.

Im complaining because its much easier win at home than on the road. Im tired of watching the same pattern season after season after season

So who pitches Tuesday?

Nothing announced officially, but you have to think it will be Tillman. He pitched the game after Gausman in his previous start. I also think that we'll be seeing Liriano. This is the same matchup from last week, where Kim hit the pivotal HR. ESPN seems to be pushing the concept of rolling with Ubaldo.

If I'm not mistake, Miley didn't give up four runs in the eighth or later.

I'd rather see Ubaldo in there than Tillman.

This man should be Next O's Manager

That's what we need. A rahrah pompom coach. Maybe we can bring back the pie in the face.

I'm very happy about the win. It cheered me up today. And Buck is the man. We suffered 14 straight yrs until we got him. Nuff said.

Can't believe I'm posting this, but add me to the list.

And regarding the anti-Buck rants, could we just pretend not to see them? It's truly gotten old.

Just simply cannot join the start ubaldo group.. he seems every year to turn it up towards end of the year but still ugh.. could not stand thinking about it all offseason if he blew it

But what if they start Chris Tillman and he blows it? Ubaldo owns a sub 3.00 ERA since the break and has a 2.45 ERA and 0.89 whip in his last 7 starts.

Tillman, on the other hand, it something like 5.04 and 1.4, but he's been less than impressive on the season. After a strong start, he's really faltered, only to fall off entirely after his injury.

On a side note, I really don't see how Rick Porcello wins the AL Cy Young (he's the favorite according to ESPN).

I know he had the most wins, but he had an average run support above eight (until maybe like his last three starts). It cannot be overstated how much pitching with a lead (especially one that big) will help a pitcher. He wasn't a dominant strikeout pitcher, either, and he allowed a fair amount of hits in comparison to other "aces". Really, his calling card was not walking batters because with that type of lead, you can just attack the strike zone and not have to worry about what happens if you give up one or two hits. I know he had a ton of wins on his record, but I'd hope he'd win when the score was that out of hand.

Don't really know much about Kluber, other than he led the AL in WAR.

I just don't see a dominant starting AL pitcher this year. If there was ever a year for a reliever to win, it's now. I understand Britton doesn't pitch 200+ innings, but he owns the best ERA ever for a pitcher who pitched at least 60.0 innings, has the best ground ball percentage in the MLB (I think I read it was something absurd like 78%), had a dominant WHIP while limiting himself in walks, led the league in saves AND was perfect in opportunities. Really, I don't see a reason for him to not win.

I think starting tillman on the road to toronto is suicide. I know he beat them last time but most of his career hes struggled against them. Honestly it's tough for me to trust ubaldo with his walk rate especially but I think he's the better option.

Not that I'm at all comfortable with Tillman either. Ubaldo is definitely the hot hand just makes me cringe.

If you guys traded us for rich hill i'd say you would have won the division or at leats have your true 1 ace for the playoffs. Wade miley has been dissappointing, he was pretty good in arizona.

My prediction: We win 80 games and come in third place. What I want to happen: Tillman pitches like an ace, Gausman kicks butt, Ubaldo is the Good Ubaldo more than Bad Ubaldo, our hitting and relief pitching perform as expected and we win the division. A girl can dream. :D

I was WRONG about this team! And I'm happy about that. We have a chance and that is everything!

No outfield depth and no starting pitching

I'd be surprised with a .500 season

but maybe gausman and bundy show up and someone steps up in OF and Orioles make a run.. Who knows

Well, we beat .500 :-)

Yeah not sold on the starting pitching at all and while our bullpen is good, even the best bullpens get worn out. Gonna need a lot to go right if we want to make the playoffs

I guess it did.

If that happens Buck gets the boot. O's spend more than the Yankees and Red Sox combined. So theres no excuse for not being at least a wild card team

We made it, so I guess Buck gets to keep his job.

Bundy and Kevin showed up to me and I definitely did not expect trumbo to lead the league in homers

expected Britton to be great but he still exceeded expectations obviously

good season overall regardless playoff outcome considering our starting rotation throughout the year
