With the Astros looking like they are going to win their game, it is official time to start panicking about the Orioles games from here on out.

I mean if people are still accusing ortiz of being a ped head I won't deny it, because i'm fairly sure most players in baseball and football for that matter use it. I don't think he's any different to the rest, except he is a good player instead of another roider like A rod who's garbage. I wanna say cleveland has a decent shot at the AL as well but I think they are way too injured atm.

Trumbo has had a .185 batting average since the All Star Break, Davis a .197, and Reimold a .145

Kim, Hardy, and Jones with the best batting averages since the all star break at a .285, .284, and .283 respectively for guys with a significant amount of at bats.

Those are some ugly numbers, I think the O's live and die by the homerun, which is great when it works but sometimes you need a few guys who can just slap singles and doubles a few times a game consistently. Like francisco lindor or jose altuve

The averages were a heck of a lot better pre all star break. Really dropped off. I think you are right in that they are trying to go for the fences as opposed to trying to get on base. They were a lot better about it earlier in the season, maybe the success early on and the home runs changed the way they did things. I don't expect great numbers from Davis as he is what he is but Trumbo had a .28 or so going pre all star.

Who wants to see the O's move to Montreal?  I DO!!! Please get them outta here and take Angelos with you..We will get a better team here. Perhaps the Dodgers!! Because L.A wont build them a new stadium

What a meltdown.  Can't have mistakes like that at this stage of the season.  Davis had plenty of time to stop and plant, and not doing that put 5 runs up on the board.

Because it's Angelos' fault that Chris Davis made that error?

Why don't you turn in your fan card and become a Dodgers fan then? How can someone call themselves a fan of a team and then say they want to see them move out?

Mhm.  I'm sure the 2nd most valuable team in baseball just wants to leave one of the biggest markets in the country to move to a mid rate market like Baltimore...

Yeah I agree, also sometimes you'll face a really tough pitcher in a game, so I like my batters to bleed some pitches to get the pitch count out so you get to the BP and give yourself a chance faster.

That is something I really get jealous of other teams having. I look just down the road and see Washington do it regularly and I am sure they aren't the only ones that do it a lot.

At Least the Nats Owner is trying to put a championship style team together. Meanwhile Mr Angelos is being C-H-E-A-P-O

Comon guys,,You tell me what owner who keep a manager on the team he doesn't put the team in the World Series in 5 years? Look Nats owner every manager has been fired if he didn't succeed to the owners expectations. What real owner would keep Buck for another year? The best thing for Buck Showalter after this season is to go back to ESPN!

I was really looking forward to being at home. I thought we could maybe get a winning streak going and possibly take the division. I just hope we can still stay in the wild card hunt until the end.

Speaking of the OB problem from above, I got excited that the Orioles had like two or three players with averages around .330... until I heard Mike Trout was leading the MLB at an insane rate of like .485.

The Orioles just don't have enough guys who are consistently wiling to take walks. They live or die by their hitting, often swinging for the fences instead of contact.

I also am amazed that this team could allow five runs, but not have a single one be "earned".

I've seen verlander do it to us in the playoffs 3 times and all 3 times it sucked, the O's are at least relevant, every time the A's start to become relevant beane trades all the good players and chemistry away.

Was talking mainly about bleeding pitching and wearing teams out more. I would love to see us do that. I am not getting my hopes up of us getting a pitcher that good lol

Oh sure I meant that too, we could have bled pitches out of him and got him out of the game sooner but instead we'd try for the homer and fly out easily on 2 pitches or whatever. I prefer forcing walks or long foul off duels or slap singles etc.

Tillman getting shelled! One series is going to swing the whole season. From having a chance for the division to not even making the playoffs. Terrible season.

Again he isn't managing the game right. The O's have spend big bucks during the offseason and what do they have to show for it? Right nothing. Im tired of O's just playing for nothing. Im just sick of it. Buck has been in Baltimore for 7 seasons and what has he done? He never produced a 20 game winner. Not one O's pitcher threw over 250 Strikeouts a season. And this is one of the seasons Buck has not produced a base stealer. Lets Face it,,,Earl Weaver has produced four 20 game winners back in 1971 and almost every year O's had an 20 game winner under weaver. And under Weaver O's had a base stealer that stole 20-50 bases a season. Its time for Buck to go! Maybe its the best thing for him to return to ESPN and yack his mouth on Baseball Tonight show.

Averaged 2 runs a game the past 6 games. We aren't doing a thing if that keeps up

Also some more interesting stats:

We are 23rd in the MLB in runs and 28th in batting average post all star break. Were 5th in average and 7th in runs pre all star break.
