Toronto loses a tight one to New York although Boston wins so both teams are tied for first one game ahead of us. Hopefully we can get the sweep tomorrow

This Article clams the Orioles are getting hot now!

Comon...Theyre playing the Rays. The worst team in Baseball right now. Lets see if they stay hot in Detroit.

They're 4-1 in their last five games and have a chance to go 5-1 in their last six tonight, so we'll see.

The scary thing is that the Yankees are heating up a ton lately.

Thats good news.Look at Yanks schedule. They gotta beat Toronto and Boston. But Yanks play last week of season vs O's. So i hope O's fans go to Stub Hub now. Pack Up Yankee Stadium so that way O's fans invade their stadium. Let see how it feels to Yanks fans cause they been hogging up Camden Yards for years.

See what i mean? Bundy cannot pitch against eastern division teams. Bundy is simply not ready to be a starter. He's just an long relief pitcher.

I got a question. Suppose Orioles do make playoffs and its on Oct 9th same day Ravens play on sunday. Ravens are not going to cooperate and change the date right? Because the Orioles didn't cooperate when Ravens supposed to have that home opener vs Denver on 2014. So i think its only fair Ravens wont let the Orioles play on the 9th at camden yards.

I think the Ravens will likely request the MLB work around that.

He's 6-4 as a starter with some real gems mixed in there (7.0 IP, 1H, 1BB against Texas). He also did pitch very well the last time he faced the Yankees.

But you're talking about someone who hadn't pitched in the majors in almost three full years, so there is going to be rust.

MLB schedules the playoff games around the NFL schedule.  There will be no conflict.

Man, this is going to be a tough couple weeks to watch as the season ends. A 4 team race for the division as the Blue Jays are 1 game behind, we are 2 back and the Yankees are 3 games back. So glad we got the win against Detroit tonight, hopefully we can win tomorrow to get 2/3 and win the series. I also see we are in one of the Wild Card Spots as Toronto has the other. I don't ever remember our AL East being so competitive. Whether it's us or Boston or Toronto or New York, the winner of the division will have earned it.

Look at this insanity, never seen such a competitive dogfight for a wildcard spot.

Another quality start from Baldy. What the heck turned his light on?

I sure hope Tillman hits the ground running.

This is Ubaldo normally for you.

Historically, he's a horrible first half pitcher that all of a sudden turns it on in the second half.

I'd imagine the Orioles stopped trying to fix his goofy mechanics and just let him ride or die with them.

IDK......... I've heard he likes it hot and humid, he's better late, etc., etc..  He hasn't looked this good for this long a period since he's been here. And I'm not sure how much they tinker with his mechanics as he was an accomplished pitcher for 7 years prior to coming to Bmore.  Maybe it just took him 3 years to get comfy.   lol

I saw a graph once earlier in the season that the Orioles had tried to either lower or raise his release point on throws and force him into a slightly more traditional mechanics and it just absolutely screwed him.

And let's be real here- the Orioles aren't exactly great with developing pitchers. Bundy, early, was limited in his pitch arsenal that the Orioles wanted him to use and they're known to force a player to try to learn a new pitch while discarding another that's effective for them to force them to learn.

All I'm saying is that I'm gonna err on the side of the Orioles finally realizing that they don't need to fix what isn't broken and just let him do his thing.

Oh I know we've sucked in the past at developing pitchers. But Baldy was a 7 year vet that was highly successful before coming here. And I think most of that bad rep left with Rick Adair.  Dave Wallace seems to be doing OK.

I don't know much about Dave Wallace, but like I said, I saw a really detailed article with some compelling graphs correlating his WHIP and ERA to his (Baldy's) release point.

He's extremely goofy with his mechanics, so I'm not surprised they tried to tweak it.

I about wore out my remote as the Ravens finished up.  Didn't want to miss the Ravens post game show or the Orioles win.  Love it when we win both games.

This division is really becoming hard to follow. The blue jays are now even with us behind the Red Sox.

Yanks lost today and have a home series with the dodgers now, that may or may not be a good thing. Depends if kershaw is playing in one of them and if he's better for his second start.

Apparently Kershaw is starting on Wednesday.

Toronto gets a chance to recover with Tampa, Detroit gets an easy 3 with the Twins, Kansas City gets the A's, Houston gets the Rangers which may set them back, and Seattle travels to the Angels.

If the O's can get at least one from Boston before our homestand I'll be alright. This next homestand is going to make or break us as it is our last home games on the year. Got Tampa for 4 games, Boston for 4, and Arizona comes to town for 3. This is where we need to make a run

I could see baltimore winning 7/11 of those games, tillman needs to be healthy for sure though. Toronto should make it too, its very close for everyone. NL has only 3 wild card contenders for 2 spots.
