Harbs..... if you need to stick up for this sport... You my friend are speaking to the wrong crowd!

I am glad you are willing to stick up for the game that we all love but I am sick of the need for all of us to defend it. If others don't like it... they have a choice... "don't play or don't watch"!

Ohhhh and by the way... tell Goddell to stop trying to make this game okay to the people who are bent on ruining it. We make all of these changes to appease people who hate the game. Stop it!.... lets just tell them that this is how it is! IF THEY don't like it... don't watch and don't play but leave us alone!

(BTW ... I am not complaining that Harbs stuck up for the game just stating that we are giving too much thought and time to people who dislike the game). If your a fan - you don't need people defending the game to you.. and if not... you weren't really listening anyway! Lets get back to traditional football. Hard hitting, rough and unapologetically a mans game!

If this guy were one of the Presidential candidates today, he would most certainly get my attention. I love his passion for the game and how he articulates why he loves it and why you should.

Now as a football HC of the Baltimore Ravens, he takes on the role of ambassador of football without it being a responsibility of his and that is so awesome. Why would any player not want to play for this man? One thing about Harbs is how authentic he is, how passionate he is about football. There is no doubt in my mind that this passion percolates down to his coaches and players and positively affects the outcome of games! Glad to have you Coach.

So Bosa holding out if drafted by the Ravens. The hell with him, let's get Elliot! He's a true running back and a work horse like Lewis was. I don't like Buckner and no to Stanley. Hargreaves if it Elliot!

Really what woman plays in the NFL? men play the game and it gets physical... and if that bothers people maybe they are not man enough to watch how men play. I agree from a fans perspective it is a mens and womens sport equally but for those who do not understand that it is a mens sport played by men and therefore physical... then i would encourage them to tune into something else, regardless of their gender.. I agree with what steel city is saying... and I think it gets old when non traditional football fans ruin it for those who are traditional football fans (again regardless of gender).

I love football. Can it be a dangerous sport ?
At times, yes.
Life is a contact sport. None of us will get out of alive. How we choose  to live our lives, is our choice. I have two sons, 14 & 12, that have played football since they were 10 & 6 years old, respectively. My older son chose not to play until he was 10. Football has tought them many life lessons, they would not normally have learned by just going to school. In a day when mothers are afraid to let their kids play out on the streets, and with good reason, football is for my son's, an outlet for exercise, and has taught them how to become mentally tough. It has taught them how to listen to and respect their Coaches. How to be part of a team and do what's best for that team.
I have watched them grow from little boys into responsible young men in just a few years. Football has in a large part been one of the biggest defining factors in their maturation. We / they wouldn't have had it any other way.

When you read or hear something do you always just take it as fact? Do you process what you hear and look for more answers if it doesn't make sense?

This comment proves how the media can strongly influence peoples thoughts and beliefs. Be more skeptical and look for more answers.

I think the rule changes are all about money. The NFL doesn't want to face litigation from all the injuries and head trauma so they are emphasizing player safety. The NFL thinks that high scoring games attract more viewers and keep more people glued to the screen (Fantasy Football?), so they create and emphasize rules that put defense at a disadvantage.

It is the owners who are ruining the game of football. The owners are at the mercy of the media, the general population, and their money is at risk.
