True.

Another guy that seems interesting if he's there for the Ravens to pick is Dawuane Smoot from Illinois. Very athletic edge rusher that's good at mixing up the moves he uses.

Ya im pretty interested in him. I want to see more production out of him the rest of this year though. Especially against top competition. I liked what i saw against nebraska though. I agree with the size and athletecism though. Just want to see him put it all together. His counter part seems to have good upside too. Cant remember his name. Too bad he plays for illinois. Theyre not very competitive lol

Check out demarcus walker, i mentioned him earlier.

Walker does seem to be the type of guy the Ravens like, real high character, team player type. And he just seems to always get it done on the field.

Well, we're off to a good start for Tim Williams...

I've watched some of his tape as well. He actually has pass rush moves and looks like he could be a good edge rusher. However I've notice him getting stone walled in the run game at times. If he's there at the bottom of the first round I'd take him but he's far from my favorite.

However I do love Humphrey and Jonathan Allen

Yeah, I could see something like that happening. I haven't seen many people talk about Lawson this season.

I just watched a little of him. First half of two games from 2016.

Seems a bit limited. Not great get off. No inside counter that I saw. Loses the ball and the edge in run game. I have to watch more but not real impressed thus far.

One player who needs to get more love is Texas' D'onta Foreman. I'm not sure he goes to the draft this year due to a loaded RB class and probably wanting to graduate with his brother, but he is a beast. 6'1", 250 lbs of raw power and speed. Clocked a 4.4 40 to get his offer from Texas in high school (he was a lot lighter then, probably 4.5 speed now). He is current second in the nation in rushing yards per game and is as physical as they come. He hits the hole and accelerates, no dancing around. His breakaway speed is truly insane for his size and he does not get caught from behind. I have a day two grade on him right now, but he'd easily be a early/mid 2nd rounder in a different draft class.

I think Notre Dame's Torii Hunter is a really under the radar receiver to look at, reliable hands and good speed, and a fantastic blocker on the outside

Jonathan Allen is the best defender in this class not named Myles. And it will show up in the NFL.

I love Allen before last draft before he decided he was going to stay another year. I wish it wasn't so long ago or else I could find the comment where I said he was the one that stood out while watching Robinson tape.

grim alerted me to check out his film and i was pretty impressed with it, but his 2016 film has me smitten. unless we have a disastrous 10 game stretch i dont see how were in his range.

i like the sound of dawuane smoots scouting reports because he sounds like a high upside edge rusher, but i still need to watch film, at a quick glance i hate his build, he doesnt look the part of an NFL edge rusher and he needs to really bulk up his arms and shoulders and slim down a ton in his core, hes built a lot like a shorter bronson kaufusi who was almost projected to struggle with soft tissue and back injuries due to his bad weight distribution(which he was dealing with for a while prior to his broken ankle) and that soft core and small arms and narrow shoulders is a big red flag.

for my money id prefer demarcus walker. and not just because im riding the hype train from his first game, but because he is a legitimate gamer, and has NFL ready mass but still has room to slim down to add explosiveness. kids a natural emotional leader, he ramps up in big moments, and for the more technical side he is ready to play at this level, hes got excellent sense of lean and leverage, supreme power when engaged and great hand usage to go with it, and my favorite part is his ability to finish in the pass rush, he does very well getting tackles off their path enough to dip the shoulder and close into the pocket, love that shoulder dip, also his rough and gritty hand fighting and ripping and benchpress moves to take the inside, he does that nearly as well as bosa but with better exterior lean and balance. the way hes performed so consistently, brought high value performances, and has made so many huge plays for a top tier program and is still considered a 2nd rounder is beyond me. shaq lawson who is a similar player was considered a top 15 prospect at one point and i think walker looks better than he ever did.

Problem with Walker is his lack of bend and overall athleticism. I'm torn apart because he's a born leader, an A+ character and he loves the game and the work, but he doesn't have the X factor. I'll need to see more though.

Same. I noticed Allen a lot on the field when I was watching Robinson last year. I wanted to see what the hype was on Robinson. I initially really liked Robinson a lot, but as I watched him more and more and didn't just watch games, I saw Allen really made things easy for Robinson.

Allen has really stepped up. I am sure he would've been our 2nd round pick had he declared, and man what a pick that would've been. He probably would've been a 1st round pick, even. I wish he declared last year. He would've totally been worth it. OH well.

he bends well though, its just not by speed. his underhook is a thing of beauty, he takes a tackle with prime position and turns him into a turnstile.

Eddie Jackson, Safety from Alabama suffered a broken leg in today's game. Maybe we can get a top rated safety in the middle of the draft? 4th round?

Can we get Fournette? Please?

I second this. If we end up losing this season, we need to go after Fournette. Bring some fear back into this offense, because after SSS retires, there's nothing scary about us.

Yeah but so can 31 other teams.

There are no more detailed reports on the injury yet but fractures aren't really that bad from the player's future perspective. Even if he slides, I doubt he slides all the way down to the 4th.

Jamari Staples of the Louisville Cardinals has a chance to be a great receiver in the NFL. Amazing size, solid speed, and is very aggressive in going after the ball.

I still like LSU WR Travin dural, I feel they underused him and now he could be a steal in 3rd-5th round.

VT WR Isiah Ford I like the way he attacks the ball in the air. I think he could fall through the cracks as well.

Alabama DE J.Allen he really looks like a complete player, he used different moves on linemen, plays the run well and gets pressure on the QB. ( he's going to be Top 10 for sure )

Louisville DE/OLB D.Fields - he's been a consistent sack artist at both TCU & Louisville.

Lots of Cornerbacks in this draft should be able to snag someone.

Smoot has good quickness and some moves but he needs to get a lot stronger for the NFL.

I think so, too.. However, my main problem with him is his pads. He has a good motor and is indeed a natural pass-rusher but he stands too high when playing the run and is often washed off the play. With often I mean on way too many plays. I just don't know what is "fixable"/coachable.. he reminds me a bit of Gregory (not career-wise of course, none wishes a player to bust that way. More like phisically and considering their skill set).
Btw guys, did you see my boy Carl? :D 7 hurries this saturday.. never seen such explosive spins and burst off the LOS since.. idk, Mack maybe.
Too bad I couldn't find any Evan Panfil (Purdue) tape..idk, maybe it's just too early. He looks to be a consistent pressure-machine on stats.

RB will definitely be a need, I just don't see it being as pressing as OLB, tho. Assuming Fournett will go in the top 10, maximum top 15, and we're to select between him and a Myles, Laws, King, J.Lewis I'd still go with any of these latter ones. Afterall, you can have a good running game with a functional Oline and balanced playcall, while there's no way you get into a QB's brain with Judon and Z.Smith (we can't consider Suggs and Doom as serious options any longer; only hope is Kaufusi, who I'm pretty high on as a pass-rusher). RB that early is a luxury and I'm not sure we can afford it with all our voids.

On an unrelated note; I've just realized the Browns will end up with 5 draft picks in the first 2 rounds.. I know the Browns are the Browns but even with such a heritage this high number of picks will now or then produce something.

While I don't want the Ravens to miss the playoffs again, they could end up in the middle of the first with a chance to grab Tim Williams from Alabama or Eddie Vanderdoes (interior rusher, but potentially a very good one) from UCLA. Either could really improve the Ravens' pass rush.

Also, PFF released a list of top 32 prospects: https://www.profootballfocus.com/draft-top-32-prospects-2017-nfl/

Garrett, Allen, Fournette, Mike Williams, Cook (wait never mind he supposedly hit a woman). We NEED to go get a game changer or we're going to be stuck in mediocrity forever.

Honestly I think if we end up picking at the top of the first again and Garrett is off the board then we should trade back and pick up more picks. Since this is a strong class in almost exactly what we need - CB, pass rusher, RB, and the WR class could really go either way - then the more picks the better and outside of Garrett I'm not a huge fan of the top of the class, there are some guys here and there that catch my eye but I don't think any are "can't miss" guys - even Fournette to some extent.

What do you guys think of Marquis Haynes from Ole Miss? This class is loaded with edge players and I would love to see the Ravens take one in the 1st.  Has to be the biggest need in my opinion.
