Desmond King looks great at CB but given the fact that we have Wright, Jimmy and Young I don't really see us going after him. We might very well take a C in the first round, I can't think of any other needs besides safety, I'd look into the Michigan guy Peppers but I think he'll be taken higher than we pick.

I don't see our current cb corps make us avoid a guy like king in the draft... Wright still doesn't look like the guy for the future and long term concerns about jimmys health are very real. Plus our safety tandem is up there in age so he could be strongly considered for that as well.

What do you guys think about Chidobe Awuzie cornerback from Colorado? I really liked what I say against Michigan.

Heard about him, I'll check him out.

Meanwhile, here are guys that I watched this weekend:

Tyler Orloski: Oh man, he's good. I like him better than Pocic actually. Obviously he's got better leverage, and seems to be working in a ZBS, creates huge running lanes... I'll need a few more film but for now I'll settle for a "I want this guy and nobody else in the second round".

Justin Evans: Hard to really evaluate him as he's probably the only guy in his team that can tackle (seriously). He's rarely able to put himself into position to make plays, but he sometimes do, and he's done some overall good work as a last tackler and on coverage. Will need to see a lot more though, 3rd round grade for now.

Budda Baker: New crush. Absolute must-watch, I see a smaller Jamal Adams but with elite range and sideline to sideline speed. Or a faster Karl Joseph.

Derek Barnett: Meh, and I'm being nice. Shilique Calhoun 2.0, good first step and that's it, no speed to power conversion, soft hands... Nothing that caught my eye.

Ryan Anderson: Reminds me a lot of KC, an explosive pass rusher that can also play off ball. Do we need him? No, but he's nice to watch.

Dawuane Smoot: One of my favourite Edge in this class, simply put if he can finish plays and wrap up efficiently he's the next Julius Peppers.

Told you you man Tyler is a stud in is own he has to be the most fluid mover as a center to the second level I have ever seen on run plays and plays all the way to the whistle.

Yeah I also watched Charles Harris vs WVU and it still caught my eye how they created so many big holes to run the ball.

Glad someone else sees Barnett for what he is. And that's not even taking into account how horrible of a tackler he is.

To be fair, Dawuane Smoot has the same problem, but I still love him. It depends on how much of a problem you think it is and if it can be corrected. We already have like 3 or 4 missed sacks on the season so it's not something you want to see again but I believe it can be worked on with proper coaching.

Continuing my list:

Charles Harris: way more powerful than I thought he would be, has a Freeney-esque spin move, good burst, big plus is his run defense, it's quite rare for rookies and it will help him get on the field often. Major problem is he lacks flexibility, it's not ZDS but it still makes him an average bender. Still worthy of a first rounder if the big names are gone.

Jalen Hurd: Meh. I was really hyped at the beginning, but I think he's slow. The vision is there, the patience is there, the power also is but somehow (lack of leverage perhaps) he doesn't make a lot of guys miss their tackles, and he rarely picks more than 15yards. Considering where he's projected to go I'm not sold.

Kareem Hunt: You know I love Gallman, but Hunt isn't far behind. And it's a guy we may snag in the 5th, which would be a huge bargain. He's exactly what we need, a powerful but quick back with good vision and deceptive breakaway speed that can hit the hole in a hurry and put the defense in alert. Definitely a guy to monitor.

So, I'm watching Florida and Tennessee and the backup (or committee back?) running back Jordan Scarlett looks like he could be a good power back for a team like the Ravens that wants to run it between the tackles. He just refuses to go down and uses his free hand frequently to keep himself off the ground and pick up extra yardage, like Rice used to.

This is my first time seeing him, but anyone?

Never heard of him. He from Florida? Because Tennessee are already set with Hurd and Kamara.

I'd really love to be able to get Charles Harris or Adoree Jackson

I like Harris, but Adoree Jackson is overhyped imo. I think as a CB he lacks too much fundamentals.

Back after a very long break but:

Justin Evans from A&M is a first year FBS player, but he is a beast. I could see him going as high as the mid first.

Carl Lawson had an excellent game against LSU and if he falls because of injury concerns we should pick him up.

I'd trade the farm to get Myles Garrett. The idea of him in our hybrid defense is salivating.

Chad Hansen and David Webb from Cal might play in the Bear Raid and have intial trouble learning NFL schemes, but I think Chad is an early round WR and Davis should have first round consideration, especially over the likes of Kaaya and Kelly. I like him better than Goff. (for other teams obviously, we have January Joe).

My favorite team, Texas, has little in the way of NFL prospects for this year. Too many underclassmen. I have been hearing some buzz that Tyrone Swoopes may get TE consideration, which I like because he is basically a more athletic Blake Bell. Kid loves to dole out punishment and is incredibly team first. I wish he could play the mental side of QB better, because his physical skills are near unmatched.

I think Jackson needs to play WR if he wants to stick in the NFL.

Junior

He was in the 2015 Army All American Bowl, definitely a sophomore. I remember he was in the same recruiting class as Jacques Patrick for FSU.

I want to like Jackson so much more than I do, but I just can't bring myself to do it.  When he flashes, it can be incredible.  He has those awful moments though, and that's because of that lack of fundamentals.  His speed keeps him in the play far too often, and that won't fly in the NFL.

You're right. Thought I read he was a junior.

Gilbert had better developed CB skills. Adoree is very raw.

Well, we're off to a good start for Tim Williams...

Charged as a misdemeanor with a $300 bond, I doubt much comes of it at Bama following the Robinson example. Could slide him to the second or third round however.

Should we start an arrest/suspension thread for draft prospects? Seems like that could be a good way to keep all that discussion in one place.

Makes sense. Feels like college players get in trouble much more than pros, they deserve their own thread.

I'd find it hard to believe that the gun charge would drop Tim Williams too much. He's regarded as a top 20 prospect so far from everything I've seen and it was a misdemeanor for carrying without a permit. Unless I'm mistaken, he wasn't flailing it around and pointing it at people.

Now, Matt Miller did his newest scouting notebook and he had Carl Lawson going to the Ravens at 30. I'd be ecstatic.

He also had my boy Isaiah Ford going to the Eagles at 29. I'm hyped up to see Ford finally getting first round recognition.
