WR Moritz Boehringer

28 posts in this topic

So I read about this guy today. He apparently crushed it at his pro day. Drawing comparisons to Mike Evans on size and speed.

I think he will go in the 4th. His only competition was in a German football league. I watched his route running. His hips look super stiff. Does he have a future in the NFL? Is he worth a Ravens pick?

You really think he'll go that high? I think he could but idk I've never seen anything like this usually the international football players that make it to the NFL are signed as FAs not draft eligible, theres not much to go by. I like him though I'd be open to grabbing him but not sure I'd use a 4th on him.

I say 4th because of his measurables. However, thinking back. Tommy Streeter blazed through the 40, didn't do much else. Believe we took him in the 6th?

I think some GM is going to be enamored by his showing. Good thing Al Davis isn't around, raiders would have him in the 1st

the speed is there, but it looks like hes playing against a bunch of kids, literally.

I wouldnt take a flier on him until very late, he might even go undrafted.  But i wouldnt see a reason considering we have Waller, who seems to be basically the same but with more ideal size.

And has faced stiffer competition in his lifetime

If he doesn't get drafted, then we go after him to make him an UDFA. We'll even throw in a 10K bonus for him to accept.

If the Ravens didn't already have a high potential, tall, fast receiver I'd say go for it. But we have Waller, who is as athletic as Moritz.

Tommy streeter was a garbage wr though. He wasn't catching anything unless it fell perfectly into his arms without him having to even give the effort to locate the ball lol

We already have a project WR in wallet, no need to bring in another.

Sadly, this is the case. We don't have as many late-round picks to gamble away this year.

But his measurables are better than your typical 40-yard dash burner. He also had a 39" Vertical, Broad of 10'11", 4.09 short shuttle, and 6.64 cone drill (the most impressive drill of the bunch)... and that's to go with his 6'4" frame and 4.4 40-time. Supposedly he looked good in the position drills, too.

I am honestly intrigued, and I'm someone who is very wary of combine-warriors. I wonder if the Ravens had anyone in attendance, or if they will give him a private workout :D

/also Streeter failed because he was a 100% body-catcher. Not every H/W/S receiver is going to have that problem.

A highlight video for those interested. Reminds me of a 5-star recruit playing with a bunch of random high schoolers lol.

I have to say, he makes some nice hand catches, including some over the shoulder catches, and he reels-in some tough catches just before getting hit. But a lot of his catches are vs porous coverage, like 1/3 of them are on quick screens designed for YAC, and he doesn't seem to be very refined as a route runner. Learning the pro-game could be a tall order for him. I would like to see his low-lights too just to know where he struggles (concentration drops? blocking? wrong routes? etc).

He does kind of look like Jordy Nelson just for being a bigger white guy lol

Watching that video... I just don't see it. He has nice hands and is aggressive to the ball but He looks like he really lacks the movement skills. His feet look God awful, his first step off the snap is really slow, he has no suddenness at all.

If he was playing against American 5 star high school players he would probably have his stat line cut in half

I think everyone will be intrigued by him, but the Ravens aren't exactly known to develop project WRs, ever lol.  Im also pretty happy with the potential we have already.

He will be a Patriot. Remember this.

I could see this. I don't think he gets drafted though and I think that will be to his benefit so that way he can pick what team he goes to so he can get the best coaching to develop.

I hate to say it, but I bet the Steelers could use him and turn him into something decent.

Im predicting 5th or 6th round.

We already have a guy who is 6'6 and runs a 4.40 40 yard dash in Waller. In my opinion we need more of a receiver like Campanaro/Steve Smith on this roster because Smith is one year from retirement and Campanaro thinks that IR stands for Incredible Resort.

Remembering Stephen Hill. :D

I quite like Boehringer though. Much more so than stephan hill.

Getting him in the 7th round in the forum mock is starting to look like a serious steal

Stephen Hill couldn't catch with his hands though, same problem with Streeter. This guy seems to catch naturally with his hands (though we don't know how often he drops passes because it's a highlight vid).

If he fails, it will be because of a myriad of other concerns imo.
