Nishadrahman13's 7-Round Mock Draft W/ Trades

9 posts in this topic

1st round, 6th overall: Myles Jack, ILB

He is in reality what people think Jalen Ramsey can be. As long as his health checks out, he is the best player in the draft to me. If I was the Titans I wouldn't flinch from taking him number 1 overall. I think he would be the biggest Ravens steal since Ed Reed.

Trade 36th overall and 104th overall picks for Carolina's pick at 30th overall: William Jackson III, CB

The trade up is necessary to keep other teams like the Titans and Browns from nabbing him at the top of the 2nd, and frankly he might not even be here at this spot come draft day. He immediately comes in and contributes, and I would be surprised if he isn't a starter at some point in 2016.

3rd Round Pick, 70th overall: Chris Jones, DE

Yet another player who may not make it to this spot. He's got explosion in droves and affects the play even when he is not getting stats out of it. He reminds me very much of Jernigan, but would be a very beneficial rotation at DE to keep both men fresh.

Trade 130th overall and 182nd overall for Buffalo's pick at 117th overall: Yannick Ngakoue, OLB

Perhaps a tradeup won't prove necessary, but I'd rather be safe than sorry. I like Za'darius Smith, but I think that Ngakoue is a better pass rusher on Day 1. We are scary thin at OLB and our top 2 are reaching the end of their distinguished careers, making this local product a no-brainer.

4th Round Pick, 132nd overall: Rashard Higgins, WR

He's skinny as all get out but he's quick, and his long speed seems better on tape than the 4.64 he had at the combine. His college production is unquestionable as well. Ultimately, Higgins in the 4th brings a level of cockiness and swagger we haven't had in a young receiver in recent memory. It's worked out with veterans like Boldin and Smith Sr, hopefully we can finally grow our own.

4th Round Pick, 134th overall: Charles Tapper, DL

Athletic freak with surprisingly solid tape, definitely worth something as a developmental prospect with a sky high ceiling. I use DL because frankly I'm not sure what position he will play, but I think Clarence Brooks and Joe Cullen will love molding him.

6th Round Pick, 209th overall: Cyrus Jones, CB

A local kid who went to Alabama, plays corner, and is a return specialist. Check check and check. Versatile player who will compete to make the 53 and might be our starting returner next year, despite Kaelin Clay's generally admirable 2015.

This draft aggressively attacks our weaknesses on defense with 2 pass rushing DL (Chris Jones and Charles Tapper), a pass rushing OLB (Yannick Ngakoue), a coverage linebacker who I think is the best player in the draft (Myles Jack), a ballhawking size speed specimen at CB (William Jackson III) and a versatile defensive back and returner (Cyrus Jones).

Not delighted about the lack of OL, which to me is an urgent urgent need that's deeply underrated, but that's how the board fell. If this is how the draft ends up going, I will be nothing short of ecstatic. There's a legitimate chance all 7 draftees would make significant impacts in their rookie season.

It's conceivable Jack will be there and I agree he is the best player in the draft with Tunsil.

William Jackson goes top 15.

It's tough to figure out how this draft is going to go in some aspects. There's almost certainly going to be a faller that's worth trading up for, whether it ends up being Jackson III or someone like an A'Shawn Robinson. If Cyrus Jones is gone in the 6th, I would go for the best available offensive linemen, someone like a Joe Dahl. We've had some success with late round O-linemen in Urschel and Jensen, we should try and add on to that.

Solid top two picks, but Jones might not escape the second as he is starting to get a bit of hype as one of the better lineman at the top of the list. I pray we land Yannick in the third though.

Yes. I like Dahl as well.

I think it's just as likely that one of the players we like is sitting there for us at number two and we wouldn't need to move up.

I suppose it depends on the player who falls.
