[News] Steve Bisciotti's Perspective On Joe Flacco's New Deal

38 posts in this topic

I think Steve B. & Harbaugh are Joe's biggest fans.

Maybe, but there's thousands upon thousands right behind them.

And yet once again, let the Flacco bashing begin...The man only won a superbowl for us...Any Raven's fans who still want to harp on Flacco(and there's still a boatload of 'em) please go root for Cleveland and see what happens to a franchise that can't draft a QB.

Amen bro'. So tired of it. There are really just a handful of QB's that have the potential to do what Joe has done, and we are fortunate to have one of them. We could have Romo, Tannehill, Alex Smith, or any number of "almost" guys. I am soooo looking forward to this year with Weddle, Gilmore, Wallace, Perriman, Smith, Maxx, etc. etc. And to think we still have guys like Waller, Aiken, Campanaro, etc.

So looking forward to 2016

While I'm not into the Flacco bashing, I don't think winning a SB buys you a lifetime exemption from criticism.

He deserves his fair share, particularly in the last three years, but that doesn't mean I want to see him gone. Quite the opposite actually.

When Bisciotti is comfortable with Flacco's highest paid QB status, who am I to argue with the man that pays him? The only important thing to note here is that Flacco is locked up for the next 6 yrs. By the time he is 3 yrs into this contract he'll be nowhere near the top paid QB in the league and that's the Ravens calculus in signing him to an extension.

I'm not saying he SHOULD be immune from criticism, just that ALOT of so called Raven's fans (and plenty of haters) give the man more grief than he deserves. Yeah, winning a super bowl dosn't mean he gets a free pass on everything; his regular season stats are not that great; but he is consistent in the playoffs and has proven he can win in the spotlight. I just don't like that there are so many skip Bayless types out there-ready to bemoan everything he does-and alot of them claim to be Raven's supporters.

The "bashers & Haters" will never appreciate Flacco until he is gone. They must not remember the days of:
Eric Zeier
Vinnie Testaverde
Scott Mitchell
Elvis Grbac
Jeff Blake
Tony Banks
Chris Redman
Kyle Boller
Troy Smith

Flacco has done nothing but win since he has gotten here and that's what counts. I will take winning over gaudy stats any day.

I like his comment also. But I don't like the option of liking or disliking. It's a good idea but it hurts peoples feelings including mine. i would probably get a neg for this.

I kinda would'nt put Testaverde on that list...1, he came over when we got the Browns franchise, which could'nt have been easy...2, he actually had a very productive year with us,including a pro bowl apperance if I remember right. WE were just such a bad team that no one could have done much.
Not saying he was great, but alot better than the other guys you lumped him with.

It does buy a lifetime of favoritism though, as it should.

It didn't for Trent Dilfer though...

That's right, Trent Dilfer got kicked to the curb after rescuing our season for us and managing the game to a Superbowl win.

Vinny Testeverde had some very good seasons for us and he was the only QB to engineer a season in which the Ravens had two wideouts gain over 1,000 yards each. That dynamic duo was Micheal Jackson and Derrick Alexander.

I really like Joe Flacco and think that if he has some people that can actually run a pattern and catch a pass when it hits them right in the hands that he will do very well. He does make some head scratching decisions from time to time and you have to wonder if that is him just getting frustrated and trying to make something happen, or if the receiver ran the wrong route, or a combination of both.

Still, he's the best QB we've ever had and we should be grateful to have him. We had a QB shuffle that looked like Cleveland's until we drafted Joe.

It's not that we don't appreciate Flacco. It's the exact opposite because he comes through when we need him constantly, but we know that he's not worth his contract and that he's a clutch top 12 to 10 QB that's nowhere near elite though.

The owner seems to be calling a lot more shots this year. He's a smart man... let's hope he's got football smarts too.

I haven't seen him say or do anything different than prior years.

After looking at that pic. I can tell they have confidence in each other. Joe grabbing his left inside pad. Saying we can do this again and maybe more.
I'll even spread my paycheck out over a few more years. Love that!!!!

Biscotti telling him we will protect you no matter what... You are absolutely are quarterback no matter what.

Very true Ed! All people under distress at times makes mistakes. I think Joe and Biscotti will right the ship.... Flacscotti
