[News] Steve Bisciotti Would Like To Add Players At Cornerback, Pass Rusher

19 posts in this topic

I support Steve B, in this he is correct. Though I would add WR to the mix aswell. Perriman, an SR both injury concerns still and Aiken a 3rd option at best.
So gotta grab someone in top 50... Doctson, Coleman, Etc

Sorry, but if Ozzie doesn't trade up like they said Ramsey won't be a Raven maybe nor is Joey Bosa. Myles Jack will be a great addiction because he's our position of need and maybe best player available that makes sense but he might be gone as well. The Browns just got RG3 so they players that we like may be gone and the Steelers win may hurt us. I hope l'm wrong because l hope one slip to us please Browns still draft a qb.

Although I agree with you, I'm not sold on the health of our WR's either, we don't necessarily need another WR. Signing Watson we have an option in him, his numbers last years showed it, lots of other teams have success with tight end play, and also we like to throw lots of screens to our running backs, which, I'm personally not a fan of, but it works in most situations. We need a CB more than anything, and it doesn't take that much to figure it out, watching teams that don't even have solid qb's throw for 400+ yards on us, case and point the browns (McCown) it very difficult to watch week in and week out. Sure our secondary improved towards the end of the year, but by then it was too late. If SSS and Perriman cant play, we have Akien, Wallace, even Brown...If Jimmy or Wright cant play, we have......?

Because this time of year in the NFL has become such a game of trying to mislead your opponents as to a teams plan as far as free agency and the draft goes that I really can't take anything these guys say seriously until after the draft. Why would Bisciotti, Ozzie, or Harbaugh actually tell anyone who or what they are looking at because it only gives our opponents a leg up in trying to circumvent what we are trying to accomplish? As far as free agency goes other than maybe one or two players still out there would even be an upgrade to what we have already as pass rushers or corners. To me when Harbaugh himself asked if Dwight Freeney was available and then went to the trouble to make this face like the Ravens will have interest told me right there on the spot the Ravens won't sign him. Harbaugh asked a question he wanted to give an answer to to try to throw people off but nobody asked him so he offered the information on his own. That is the kind of stuff I mean when I say these guys are just trying to throw off the opponents. I will donate $50 to the ASPCA if we end up signing Dwight Freeney, that is how certain I am that all that was just a dog and pony show by Harbaugh to throw people off. (We had the chance to sign him over Babin last year and chose not to, why would that change so drastically in less than a year that we would sign him.)

Catch up Steve. Joe has NO line and linebackers are weak. Draft those position if they are the Best player on the board.

i would love to know who the ravens have as their top 10 defensive players on their draft board. with rg3 having signed with the browns even though he is not a lock to be the starter i wonder if they draft another position at #2

Well, they can't really fool anybody, nor is there really much other teams can do about it.

Everybody knows what positions we would like to upgrade and add players at... its been no secret since the end of the season. We knew we want to get better in the secondary... we added Weddle and moved Webb to safety. We may look to add a corner as well.

Everybody knew we wanted to get better at receiver... we added Mike Wallace.

Everybody knows we want to get better pass rushers. Time will tell how we will address it, but we aren't fooling anybody into thinking that we won't address it, because we will.

Frankly, the FO is typically pretty transparent with what they plan on doing, and they follow through with it just about every time. All you've got to do is listen.

Two years ago Ozzie said we were going to add a receiver in the draft... we drafted Campanaro. That same year he said we were going to attempt to upgrade MLB. We drafted Mosley.

There's only so much "trickeration" and "disguise" a professional football team can do. Everybody knows your perceived strengths and everybody knows your perceived weaknesses. They may not know exactly how you plan to address those weaknesses, but only that you will attempt to do so.

To the ones saying Flacco has no line, actually i think if Monroe stays healthy the line will not be bad at all, Monroe, Urshel/Jensen, Zuttah, Yanda, Wagner. That isnt a bad line at all.

Those things happen and I am sure they have several back up plans in place. It's not like we have the 29th pick or something. There are plenty of quality players to be had at #6! Rest assured we will get someone good.

No arguments there. Lets sign Freeney and get that over with... Pick up a CB or even two (Ramsey, Will Jackson, Maurice Canaday, Kei Varae Russell)... We can still add a pass rusher to go along with Suggs, Doom, Z, Freeney, etc... someone like (Noah Spence, SLawson, KDodd, Oakman, Travis Freeney)... this are additional pass rushers that could make us scary on that side of the ball!

I don't get why you constantly keep harping on Joe having no line. We are set at 4 of the 5 o-line positions. Our only real issue with the line is that our LT hasn't been able to stay healthy, but he was durable in Jacksonville, and he's not that old, so maybe he just had a run of bad luck. Otherwise, we just need to solidify that one position, and the o-line should be pretty good.

Really painful thinking about the babin thing.

I agree fully, Urshel or Jensen either one will start at Left Guard, Zuttah is a very underrated Center, Yanda is a mule, Wagner was one of the best Right Tackles in the league last year, and Monroe when healthy is very good at pass blocking, his run blocking needs a little work, but he is better then any option left on the market by far.

There are so many quality CBs in this class, that I Don't think we will go that route in the first unless Ramsey is there. I like Jack as our pick. He can play inside and out. I also wouldn't mind trading back and picking up Noah Spence. He reminds me a lot of Von Miller. We can more than likely grab one of the likes of Alexander, Jackson, Fuller, Apple, Sutton, Sanchez, Jones in the 2nd-3rd round. Ramsey and VH3 are pretty much locks for the first, but all these other guys aren't guaranteed that same luxury.

Maybe it's the knee jerk reaction because of how Joe went down last year. I also hope that it was bad luck with Monroe. The dude couldn't catch a break. It was like one thing after another for him. I'm not wishing him bad luck or injury but the Ravens need to wish for the best and be prepared for the worst.

I agree to a certain extent. Urschel and Jensen were good backups but I don't believe they're ready to fill KO shoes yet. Having them come off the bench and producing at a respectable level was a luxory we missed for years and I hope we keep that luxory.

monroe zuttah Yanda and Wagner (hoping he comes back 100%) are indeed very good starters when healthy. It's just that 3 of the 4 have missed significant time due to injury. It's not a knock on them as Linemen just get hurt. It's the nature of the position. Yanda is the exception.

Very often by playoff time, teams are playing their 7th or 8th lineman on their depth chart. That's what scares me. Not our best 4.

Ramsey and VH3 are probably locks in the top 10. If I'm not mistaken Apple and Alexander are both going in the first with the possibility of William Jackson becoming this year's Byrod Jones and slide into the end of the first purely on physical attributes.

I think this draft plays out completely opposite to the way you invision it lol. But i agree with your premise. If VH3 is graded as highly as Ramsey then maybe take him. If not then let's not touch a CB until teams overpay for the second teir guys. Then maybe see who's there at 70. A few good guys will be there.

its really easy to fall in love with Jack if we land him ;)
