I have some concerns about Flacco's recovery, he could struggle if his leg doesn't feel right under him, so much of a QB's rhythm and arm strength comes from his legs.

He really needs a better QB coach too. His mechanics really got sloppy last season under Mornhinweg

I agree, he was always throwing off his backfoot, maybe that is due to lack of protection?

After seeing the schedule I gotta say I'm kinda worried,

I think im more with you on this.  Its just hard to say what we are at the moment, with the team never being full strength last year and the new additions this year.  Figuring we split the games with Bengals and Steelers, theres 2 losses.  Pats, Jax, Raiders, Cowboys i can easily see us losing all those games, at least two are at home.  Giants and Jets are a toss up.  But hey, who knows, we could come out and just gel like crazy, BP could be a beast from day one, our first three draft picks could be major contributors....anything can happen.  More excited than nervous though

I imagine it being like what Brady does with the ducking after about 3 seconds in the pocket.

Just ingrained paranoia from all the past hits and pressures

I see us beginning the season 3-1 (L at JAX), if Flacco is starting.

He'll be ready for training camp, so no need to worry about if he starts.

Honestly this whole thread is depending on 1 key thing and that's all players health status and how they return from their injuries... After that the draft and how fast guys adapt to the NFL. but based on the Ravens schedule 8-8 should be very attainable and my honest prediction is 10-6.

I am taking an overly optimistic 11-5.

Splitting with Pitts-burgh with the loss in Baltimore, and finally getting a win against Cincy at home.

Other losses to Oakland, we were mostly healthy last year when they beat us in all three phases.  They figured something out.
Also to Miami and Philly.  No real reason, just trying to keep it real. ;)

Personnel is the biggest reason the Pats beat us last time.  Much of that has been fixed ( or so it seems )

Their defensive front could possibly annihilate our line if Monroe is still struggling or hurt and if Fowler returns healthy and they draft another elite front seven guy like they say they will. They will have mismatches in the passing game. Jax and Oakland look like the perfect teams to beat the ravens this year unless we do a complete turnaround on the OL and secondary.

I like the schedule, think it sets up very nice for us...then again I'm a big homer and always thinking positive. Nothing really hard until we get to latter part of schedule with Pats, Steelers, Bengals....

If we get any improvement from our defense and we have health on offense I can see us going 11-5, 12-4

I don't want to alienate the fan base, but I see the Ravens going 8 and 8.  That's a tough schedule in the second half.

That's understandable since I think 9-7 is realistic as well.  But too many wildcards to know how this season will go

I've no interest in predicting our record in April. I have a hard enough time doing it in August. At the moment, you can put a wide range on our record and most of it is based on whether or not players are able to return healthy. #1 Flacco ... #2 Suggs ... #3 SSS ... #4 Forsett ... Can Perriman make a showing and be a contributor? What will our draft look like? Are there more moves to be made to shore up thin positions.

Yea that was kind of my point.   It could go in both ways very drastically

this year is a bounce back,

9-7,  if we are healthy

10-6,  if have a great draft and our rookies produce , a jack n' jack(son III) sounds good

11-4, if we get the ball bounced our way,

and,,,

 I am a homer

Looking at the schedule one thing is for sure. I will be consuming mass quantities of antacids this season.

I see NO blowouts or "easy wins"

I see stress filled nail biters, as per usual with this team.

Time to stock up on Tylenol and Rolaids.

Hopefully by getting the Raiders early we get them before all the pieces they went out and bought over the offseason gain chemistry. Maybe they'll make some mental mistakes.

/same for Jaguars, in fact

Looking at the schedule we can go anywhere from 7-9 to 12-4. It depends on the health of the team and if we get those close games our way. 9 of our losses last season were by one score or less if we get more our way this year and add in we were a solid football team last year with injuries, finishing 14th in offense and 8th in defense I think that is overlooked. If we play better red zone offense and defense I immediately think we are a contender.

Time to be controversial. I think we'll be better by default. We have a few people coming back from injuries and they should make a ton of difference. Forsett, Flacco, Suggs, Steve, Jimmy should be back. We have made a few good additions as well. Weddle is great, Wallace, Watson.

But we haven't replaced KO, haven't found a LT, haven't gotten an edge rusher, haven't found a corner to replace Webb. I'm damn concerned with our lack of activity. Blame the cap space all you want. You've got a few replaceable players on the roster for easy money. We haven't found a replacement for Daryl Smith, and we haven't gotten more depth along the defense, which I've been arguing was the weakness.

I'm damn concerned. We need more talent. I think we'd probably be a playoff team if everything goes right. But I honestly doubt this draft class' talent. There are a few bonafida stars in my eyes. Bosa, Jack, Tunsil. And I doubt we land one of them.

9-7 at best for me. Sorry guys.

With the depth added defensivley our ceiling is an 11 win team. I doubt we can beat a few of the teams but if everyone is healthy and we got get say Matt Slauson and Whitner then we should be golden. We have depth along the defense and offense now and a LT. We have not yet found a replacement for Daryl Smith, or who knows, maybe Brown finally decided to develop?

Last year Flacco said 10-6 would be disappointing.

This year, we missed on our first two picks.  We could have done substantially better.

It will depend upon injuries and individual improvement.  Personally, I don't believe Oz has it any longer, but I'm not going to predict. Beating Pittsburgh twice will not be sufficient.  For whatever reason, if we have a losing season next year Oz will have to depart.

Really dude? It's May, relax.  I know your not happy with who we got but to say its already a failure is just plane dumb.  I wasn't thrilled with our second round pick, but ya know something, Oz gets paid a lot of money to do what he does and in no way will I think for a second that I know more than him, but I guess you think you do.  Fans continuously give Oz crap but yet each year everyone around the league will refer to him as one of the games best GM...
