Trade back seems the most responsible.

I feel the same but I think it only depends on who's going to be there. Top guys such as Ramsey, Bosa, Jack, and Tunsil all seem to be gone by the time The Ravens pick  and they the guys I think The Ravens should have interest in the most. I

It doesn't matter too much to me, I have 6 guys I'd be happy with, obviously I'd love one of the big 5 but if somehow they are all gone I'd gladly grab VH3 unless someone really gave us a kings ransom for the pick.

If any of Tunsil, Bosa, Ramsey, Jack are availiable i wouldnt trade back, if they are gone I would trade down no lower then 15th for additional draft picks

depends on whos still on the board. Would you trade down if Myles Jack, Bosa, or a Ramsey were still available?

I'm high on Jack by the way

Unfortunately the only one of those I see being available at 6 out of those is Bosa.

I think there are too many unknown variables to say something.

Who falls to us?

How far we are trading down?

What is the offer?

I would 100% trade down if Browns don't get a qb and bears offer their first, second and a future first.

Could also end up with something like Lawson, Spriggs, and Vernon Butler, which would greatly improve our play at the line of scrimmage on both sides. Another possibility that comes to mind would be something like Lawson, a late 1st CB (Alexander, Apple, or WJ3), and Michael Thomas. With three picks in the top 40, we could get some great stuff done.

I would be even happier if we could land that group

1. It was the entire football playoffs. He was easily the MVP of that run. He had five straight games with at least one sack to end the season. I'd hardly call him a flash in the pan.

2. His play from the entire season was better than Lawson's; he just only had one year of starts and I think that's where most scouts are worried.

Disagree that his play was better than Lawsons. Injury really slowed down Lawson in the playoffs, but Dodd didn't show anything until the playoffs came along.

What about a trade back in the 1st to get a OT like Jack Conklin or Taylor Decker? Then use the extra picks gained from that, to trade up in the 2nd or maybe back in the 1st to get Noah Spence, Emmanuel Ogbah, or maybe even Kevin Dodd? Of course this is a long shot but would be nice to basically get 2 1st round prospects just by trading back in the 1st right?

With our track record of developing late round picks into good Olinemen I don't want to see us use our first round pick on one unless its Tunsil and that wont be happening.  I would much rather do what you suggest but double dip in the first with defense.  One has to be a pass rusher imo and a cb would be nice.  If we could come out of the first with Alexander and Spence I would be pretty happy

As much as I really want us to double dip in the first round I really don't think we will, even if we trade back.

True about what you said with our chances in the later rounds with O linemen. But we're talking about LT and Ogden who's a HOF LT was taken in the 1st round. I'm not saying that will be the next LT we take in the 1st round, all I'm saying is we can't rely on Monroe(injuries) or Hurst. So unless we make more cap space and pick up a day 1 LT in FA or make a trade..... I'd hope for Oz might to pull the trigger on a Day 1 LT in the draft, especially if we lost our 2nd best LT(KO) in FA. To be honest, I'm excited for our new offensive weapons, but Flacco will need time to utilize them. Also our run game hasn't been the best it can be....

Anyways double dipping in the 1st either way our FO decides would be terrific, I'm just hoping for a day 1 LT.

Ogden was also taken #4 I believe and Tunsil is the only one considered top talent this year and he is going top 2.  I agree with you we need to address the position but I just don't think a first rounder is worth it, im all about building the Oline, I just think we can get better value from a different position.

I just don't think the talent is there this year to take one in the first for us.

Just curious, not being wise at all...... How do you suggest we could fix our LT problem? Draft who? and what round? Or Which FA or possible trade? and how you think we could afford it? A decent LT FA is some coins these days.....

Well obviously we still have Monroe but banking on him being healthy is a big risk.  I don't have the info in front of me (work blocks most websites now) but there is some guys in later rounds we can look at, someone with more knowledge will most likely chime in.  Vasquez is still out there, theres a couple patch work guys, even Clady but he has injury history as well.  LT is a need no doubt about it, but I don't think we should reach on one with very few blue chip guys out there.

I wouldn't be surprised if a LT is cut as a cap casualty that we are able to pick up after June 1st. Luckily for us from what Monroe said he is getting in his best shape of his life hopefully that means he won't be injury prone. He is a very good left tackle if healthy. I am glad he hasn't taken the negative criticism on this site to heart. I agree we need depth but I don't think that is a reason to reach in the draft. I wouldn't be surprised if there was a trade before the season or a cap casualty that we pick up.

I think San Diego is more likely to trade their pick. With at least the specter that Dallas might pick a QB I think it possible San Fran could want to move and get a QB and would be content with Buckner,Stanley and perhaps a one next year...at the very least a few picks in this draft and a player trade thrown in.

If two quarterbacks are taken in the first three picks you are in all likelihood looking at Ramsey,Bosa,Jack with three picks to go.

I guess we have to decide which is better, pick 6 and 36 or like 14 and 18.

6 and 36. The talent drop off after the top 8 I think is quite steep, almost and immediate drop in talent from one pick to the next where players being picked in the teens are rated nearly the same as players in the early 2nd.

The drop off from the mid and late teens to 36 is actually not very steep at all. We can get 2 guys who would be 2nd rounders in most classes or we can get a stud and then a guy who isn't graded much lower than the teens prospects

There's no way to pull of 14 and 18. But we could do something like 10 and 28, which would be good.

I disagree. The guys that'll go in the mid to late teens (Eli Apple, Andrew Billings, and Conklin for example) definitely seem to be a tier above anyone we're going to get at 36. And these are guys that play at positions of need for the Ravens.

I personally see Apple and Conklin as 2nd rounders, Apple especially. But to each their own. Guys like dodd and Floyd and Calhoun and wj3 and Alexander and spriggs I see as guys id like in the mid 1st but I don't see any influx of great prospects in that range.

You seem to be a good judge of talent. I was curious what you see in Spriggs. I don't see him as a first round talent but I am wondering if I am missing something.

I believe a round 2 trade back  could be much more effective depending on how the board falls. You take the elite talent at 6. Then double up on some similarly ranked prospects in rd 2 rd 3.

Well thank you lol. I think spriggs is a supreme athlete at the position, he shows good refinement, he keeps his arms extended and uses them well to keep rushers at a distance, his hip level and pad level stay low and he anchors well against incoming bullrushers with leverage and a strong punch when needed. Some consider him to be weaker than you want but really I think He is a pretty strong guy in a lean body, he doesn't strike me as any weaker than a Ronnie Stanley, and he offers a level of pass protection that rivals Stanley and against the run he could be Very good with a strong guard next to him, he is no mauler but he can get to the 2nd level and run the stretch extremely well.

He is still a smaller guy and he doesn't get push in the run game but he moves great and can force guy to overpursue in the ZBS and isn't too weak to keep guys on the run and hold a lane open, in power blocking schemes he just anchors and stands his ground instead of getting a strong push. He has a lot of the same concerns that Stanley has except he is a slightly twitchier athlete and doesn't have any concerns regarding his commitment or work ethic, even if those rumors are unconfirmed they're concerning and i think it he was truly committed then he would be in the weight room making progress which he doesn't appear to be.

In terms of his stock, his position value has a lot to do with my first round grade on him

I don't see any reason to move up in the draft anymore. Wentz just locked himself as a top 5 pick in his pro day today.

I seen multiple reports stating that the Eagles are interested in moving up to get Goff if the Browns do not take him. With San Fran needing a reliable QB, I think we could  barter with them and move down only two spots and at least get another 3rd rounder to use as trade up ammo or another shot at a player. Realistically at 8, Hargreaves would very likely be there and so would Lawson i feel, which both would be great picks and we land an extra pick too. Win win

I haven't watched many Clemson games but isn't it possible that the teams were committing more resources to neutralize Lawson, making things easier for Dodd?

I watched a lot of Clemson and Dodd is a freak, but Lawson is the real jewel here. He was consistently double teamed and often chip blocked with TE or RB to slow down the bull rush before he imposed his will on the tackles. I think if Hargreaves is gone that Lawson is the best trade back candidate.

Trading with Philly is probably my favorite trade scenario, as well as the safest for still getting who we want. A 3rd round pick seems to match up well with the trade value chart, which offers a general sense of value.

Move back from 6 to 8 for a 3rd? who is left on the board at that time.  We could realistically end up with who were going to draft at 6 if the Eagles take a QB and the 49ers could take Elliot

The thing about the Eagles drafting a QB rumor I have a little problem : salary cap.

Drafting a QB at 6 or even at 8 would give the QB a salary of approx 4M to 6 M. They already have Chase Daniel and Bradford with kinda huge money at the position.
