[News] Eric Weddle's 'Blood Boiling' With Chip On Shoulder

13 posts in this topic

I can understand Weddle's bitterness at the way things were handled in San Diego. I think Weddle has a burning desire to prove himself and is quite up front that he has his sights set on helping his team to get to the Super Bowl. Lucky for us that Weddle is now a Raven, with a ton of motivation to heap on top of his excellent skill set.

Could the Chargers be punished by the league by utilizing the injured reserve designation for a player that it should not have. I remember the Patriots getting punished for illegally using injured reserve as well. I believe they were punished because they were using it to hide players and keep other teams from signing them but the fact is they both used it inappropriately. In the case of the Chargers they used it as punishment for a player but still used it for a purpose it was not intended. If that's the case the league or NFLPA should be filing something.

Would be nice if he had help. Every other year Webb gets hurt and this is one of those years so it looks like Eric will be all alone and Jimmy Smith foot is a big question mark.

Did you watch the second half of the season? Jimmy's foot got better as it went along and by the final few games he was playing at his 2014 level perhaps. He shut down Antonio Brown who was just on a major tear. Bottled up AJ Green. and did a great job on Maclin too I believe. His injury takes most players at least a year to regain form, especially since he needed his speed back and ability to change direction. With a whole off-season I see him securing a spot at the pro bowl this year.

Having a fired up talent like him will make a huge difference on defense. The last time we picked up a player that had a huge chip on their shoulder from the way their previous team treated them, he immediately became a tremendous offensive weapon. I think his name was Steve something

$10k fine for watching his daughter in a once-in-a-lifetime performance. I get that there are halftime rules and all, but it seems really petty to fine a guy for a reason like that.

I hope so because the first 9 games or so he was embarrassing.

Good to see the Ravens making some solid, aggressive, free agency moves. I think the average and knowledgeable Ravens fans can see good logic in all of the players so far. Weddle could be the most valuable of all so far. His immediate impact could and hopefully will lift the Ravens Defense up towards that Ravens D that we have become accustomed to. I was a bit surprised so see the release of Daryl Smith, I think his link with Weddle could have been a positive. Oh well...these things to will pass. On Ben Watson, there really isnt much downside to having Ben on the team. He is probably one of the best skilled blocking tight ends in the NFL, his receiving record excels and he is excellent in the red zone! Mike Wallace, here we have a mixed bag...i was a big promoter of bringing in a receiver to help the Ravens this year. So Oz and Harbaugh thought so too. Wallace wasn't the guy I was looking at, still isn't. I think the guy has talent, i just think it has gone to his head. Now maybe he brings it down to earth cause he had to take a pay cut and he is not #1. He is going to have to share time and prove himself. Hopefully that means something and he can learn to play like a Raven. Meanwhile I think we need to bring on a 24 year old that we can count on for 5 years. A work horse, some one who wont cost us 5-7 million and have a big head..we need stability at receiver for Joe. if we keep changing things all the time its a merry-go-round out there! I Still say we could afford room for one more decent receiver......Ok one more time friends just give him one try OZ ...Rueben Randle - NYG solid #2 very affordable, young, big, strong, great hands, perfect numbers, longevity. Otherwise so far great off season so far John and CO.
GO RAVENS!
