[News] Mike Wallace Signs With Ravens

28 posts in this topic

Still need one more drafted WR. Look at Sterling Shepard OSU as Ravens have enough Speedsters now. IF Campanaro can't stay healthy Shepard would be a solid replacement and upgrade. This kid has the character, work ethic and drive to be a impact player in year one. Not saying he'll run the table but you will remember him making plays. What he lacks in high end speed he makes up for in quickness and elusiveness.

Good to see the Ravens being active in free agency. If Percy Harvin comes cheap I don't see a problem with scooping him up.

We need to find a receiver who can return punts and kicks to provide extra value. I don't watch a ton of CFB, anyone have some good mid-round names that fit that bill to check out?

the fact that he's never on the field counts as a pretty big problem to me.

I had some concerns about signing an ex-Steeler (for 4 years), but after reading the news today about this, I have to say, I'm pretty stoked about it. I really think Flacco will take advantage of his weapons at the receiver position, TE's included. Now, we might even be able to keep pace with the likes of Cincy and N.E., and could even match-up better with those rival Steelers (though we did beat them with and without Big Ben last year. We're finally netting Veterans, which I've been saying we need to do. You cannot win on young talent alone in this league. We're having a most impressive offseason, '16.

2 TD's last year. was he really worth almost $6 mil a year? i guess i didnt realize how overpaid WR's are for little to no impact.

did you look at the stat sheet fro any other Vikings receiver?
obviously not...because had you, you wouldve noticed that NONE of them exceeded 720 yards or 4 TDs, and only two of them (Diggs and Wallace) got more than 150 yards or so.

That's because the vikings entire offense is giving the ball to Adrian Peterson.

Of course wide receivers dont have impact in an offense that doesnt throw the ball.

I hear ya (along with any other fan) but sounds like just another troll looking to stir the pot.

Really looking forward to next season

Lets keep this in perspective. Ravens have no Left or right Tackle How is Mike going to get the ball if Joe is getting killed AGAIN? Linebackers and Tackles will be the issue for 2016 and you really can't fix that in one draft. As it stands now, the Bengals and Steelers defense will abuse Ravens offensive line.

Let the draft and everything play out first before we start criticizing. Gotta see who we draft and sign first. Its still early.

Doubt that, thats why they got Wallace. Almost positive this is our final WR FA signing, unless someone else on roster gets hurt or something. Regardless, this was simply a move to add more veteran presence on that side of the ball, and especially in the WR corps.

These signings really have me excited for the season. Wallace and Perriman (if he stays healthy) on the outsides should make things interesting. The defense with a potential big playmaker on the back end should be really fun to watch. UGGGGHH!!.. CAN'T WAIT FOR FOOTBALL SEASON.

Another thing.. if people start picking us for the SB again.. we should make it a point to tell them TO LEAVE US ALONE!!!..

How do you catch 7.5 TD's?

Easy...Catch 8 one year and 7 the next or catch 6 one year and 9 the next...it's an average number...Mike Wallace had 10 his first year in Miami and 5 the next, hence 7.5 average.

@Crusater Eugene Monroe LT and Urschel at LG boom problem solved. :-) Now if they wanted to go offensive line in the draft they should draft one between the 3-4 rounds. Ozzie is really good finding offensive lineman gems in the late rounds and use the first 2 to 3 picks on defense.

Definitely a good decision from Wallace's perspective. You go to a team with shaky health ahead of you on the depth chart, meaning you have a decent chance of getting a lot of snaps due to injury; you match your speed with a big-armed QB; you go to an offense that likes to throw it deep; and you go to a Trestman offense that likes to throw it A LOT.

I was hoping we would get him for less and/or a 1-year deal, but I guess this is an OK price. I hope the last 3 seasons have humbled him. It sounded like he wasn't such a head-case in the locker room last year.

its March.
There's still a draft, several mini camps, training camp, and 5 more months of free agency left before anybody plays any football that counts. why are yall acting like the team is set?

Monroe will be our LT for right now. Honestly, when he is healthy he has played pretty well. He just doesn't stay on the field. Maybe the last two years were flukes and he can stay healthy, or we draft Stanley. Wagner also is a solid RT, he struggled early, but got better as the year went on. LG will be a battle between Urschel and Jensen, may the best man win. You can find a G in round 2-5 that could be a very good starter, so I would wait until the draft to make to many assumptions. I think Oz will fix our line.

Ozzie better. Rag-doll Hurst still on the team?

This one looks great on paper, But, I will hold my comments until we se the fruit of his efforts. We have been down this path to many times to get all spun up about "what he brings to the team". It may just be one more WR that Flacco overthrows to.
