[News] Mike Wallace Used To Hate Ravens, But Now Loves Them

24 posts in this topic

I wonder what kind of reception he will receive from Steelers fans. I would guess not good lol. This is weird!

What's so weird about it? Jacoby played on the Steelers for a season and I don't think anyone in Baltimore cared one bit.

It can't be that bad exactly like WNC-Raven says. It's not like he was Ray Lewis early in his career, dealing with stadiums ready to riot. Fans are short term thinkers generally, unless the stakes were very high.

Just a simple clarification as it has happened at least twice I know since 2008 where he may actually play the Steelers three times in a year. Nothing would be sweeter than sweeping them in both games in a season like last year would be to sweep them all 3 games in this season.

I have to admit, I was against us signing him at first because of his Steeler days, but this is a pro game and I am a pro fan (lol). Bygones and all that, welcome aboard Mike! Let's do big things in 16.

Its not weird this is the new era in professional sports, guys aren't interested in being with a team their whole career. They want to go around and get paid and be were they want and he wants to be here after making his money in miami and be with flacco the best deep ball thrower in the league.

Hopefully the receiving corp can gel and stay healthy. Now a team's 3rd corner may be matched up against Aiken or Perriman or Smith Sr in the slot. A Safety can't drop into the box against the run when Perriman and Wallace are on the field. A LB is forced to cover Watson, Gilmore, or Maxx. Ravens offense has potential mismatches all over the field. Stay healthy and keep Joe upright.

staying healthy is our #1 hope at this point. Everyone is blasting Wallace for his years in Miami and Minnesota, but here he will not be expected to put up #1 receiver numbers, but to create big plays an make teams fear his and Permian's speed. It will help open everything up underneath for Aiken and SSS.

Perriman who?

I feel like we're getting older with the most recent FA pickups, esp with Watson, but it's better to have a proven safety/ wr than the scrubs we have now (outside of WIll Hill). I also can't understand the fascination with L Webb. He clearly has lost a step and is unproven at safety- I guess this will send the signal to Brooks and Elam-- bye, bye!!! It won't save us much with cap space, but at least we'll cut our losses and not try to hang on with dead-beat players who never make the field (ie Sergio Kindle and now Simon). I don't understand why we keep certain players who don't perform....Oz?

"The veteran wide receiver was spent the first four years of his career in Pittsburgh." ???? OK, great signing, I guess. Who's gonna get these guys the ball?

I can't wait to see what he does vs Pittsburgh. He has to be so motivated. This article didn't really touch on it, but he was pretty offended when the Steelers gave Brown a lucrative extension instead of him. It turned out to be a masterstroke by the Steelers, but I'm sure Wallace still feels some strong resentment. He is going to be boo'ed loudly first time back in Pitt! Can't wait!

That is why he went to the dolphins to get that contract. Pro Bowl caliber players don't 'need' added motivation.

The BOSTONRAVEN Used To Hate Mike Wallace, But Now he needs to prove himself here.

everyone keeps saying he needs to prove himself.....he's a former Pro Bowler, he doesn't need to prove himself we know what he's capable of. he dealt with two QB that didn't have deep ball in their vocab....he should thrive here with joe under center

exactly.....and i love it. everyone saying we're getting older hahaha nooooooo we have vets at ever spot on offense with young guys learning and backing them up. that's the way to groom your youngsters which we did more of last year when everyone went down.....this should be a playoff year for sure.

I love it. Bringing Watson, Weddle, and Wallace in was excellent moves. So was giving Aiken a second round tender. Brilliant. Losing KO was huge though. Big moment for Monroe to make this work.
