[News] Mike Wallace To Sign With Ravens

78 posts in this topic

I'm excited about this; but I'm a little skeptical too. I know Wallace's recent situations did not really fit his skill set. But 4 different teams at the age of 29? Character issues must be part of this as well. However, it's also exciting because now our WR group is set. SSS, Aiken, Wallace, Perriman - on paper, that's probably the best group of WRs this team has ever had at one time.

Waste of $$$ I don't care how fast he is, He drops passes and has a bad attitude. He quit on the dolphins at least twice, No thanks. A one year deal worth 3 million I could stomach, But this is throwing away $$$.I really hope we can cut him after one year cause he won't be productive.

Ozzie wasn't kidding about being busy in FA. I guess they want to win another SB NOW. No rebuilding, but reloading. If we can only stay healthy, we'll be in contention, for sure.

That's the spirit! Fact is he is a Raven now and should have the same support we give all new players. I would bet that by week 3 we will be glad he is here.

Imagine the fear DBs will have if we put Wallace and Perriman on the outside.... It's going to allow so much underneath for Steve and Kamar. Not to mention Maxx and Ben Watson. It'll also push safeties back which will allow for more running lanes. Incredibly excited

LOL. No kidding. Apparently the dude is already garbage before officially signing. It's only a 2 year deal anyways. So he won't strap the team down if he under performs. Besides, we don't need him to have 95 catches and 1,300 yards. We need 60 + grabs and 900 yards. Wallace won't need to come in and be "the guy."

Make no doubt with these three signings, cap clearing will be done within the next year or two for underperforming players. A lot of guys can be cut in 2017 to give us more space, and the cap keeps rising. Brandon Williams and future cap space should become the focus through the rest of Free Agency unless a bargain upgrade becomes available.

One thing Wallace brings to the table is the is fear of getting beat. He has successfully found the end zone at a much higher rate than most high end WRs. This will help our running game too.

#1 kamar #2 steve #3 breshad #4 camp or mike

More like:
1. S. Smith
----------------
2. Perriman
3. Wallace
4. Aiken
----------------
5. J. Butler

*2-4 are interchangeable parts depending on the situation.

Wallace and Perriman is scary (if he makes it to the field).

Oh please. Perriman will be fine. It will be his rookie season so he will need time to adjust. I think he will do alright.

Wow..I guess we are turning the page on trusting only in the Draft. Cant wait for the Pittsburgh game. Lets grab a Top 5 WR in the Draft as insurance for Perriman.

Now who has the bad attitude?

Weddle,Wallace,Watson..man I like how that rolls off the tongue. Ozzie still could play in the cut player market for a OG/OT or a CB? They previously were linked to Beachum OT former Steeler, A.Cromartie is still available(cut), and recently saw might have interest in bringing back Cary Willians all this info from NFLTRADERUMOR..

If Ozzie is doing this good in Free Agency..man I can only imagine how great his draft will be

Really don't like this signing. Not because Wallace is a bad player, but because it's way too much money for him, especially for a team that constantly struggles with cap room. Mike Wallace is good, but all he does is run down-field fast... If that what the Ravens are looking for they already have a taller, faster WR in Perriman.

everybody drops passes, you know nothing about his attitude; and
in a competent offense with an actual identity and a good quarterback, he'll be plenty productive, just like he was in Pittsburgh. you're reaching.
