[News] Late For Work 3/15: Any Truth To Percy Harvin Speculation? Le'Veon Bell Takes Shot At Ravens

67 posts in this topic

Tickle me to death Mr Bell you sound bitter and jealous! Thank you :)

This only person that's too late is you having 100 yards against the Ravens. It only took you 3 years and your squealers lost even when you hit the 100 mark.

Keep running your mouth coz running the ball hasn't gotten your team anywhere relevant

There have always been current and former Steelers who I have a ton of respect for. Heath Miller, Polamalu, Dick Lebeau, etc. Ryan Clark has always fallen into this camp, even when he was landing brutal hits on our players. He is an intelligent, well spoken individual.

Le'Veon is so dumb that he couldn't stop smoking weed for a month before the league's mandated recreational drug tests which always occur within a window from spring to early summer. A genius who has been showing his buddy Martavis the tricks of the trade obviously.

Guess whose opinion I have more respect for...

Just hoping all of the off season moves translate in to being right back in contention this year. My heart and mental health can't take back to back dismal seasons. Keeping the faith.

Ryan Clark IMO was always a classy dude.

You would think after Tomlin checked DeAngelo Williams about his Manning tweet, that other Steelers wouldn't

be so quick w/ their twitter fingers.  Stupid is as stupid does.

I mean they might be bitter, but then again, they never even made Weddle an offer, so can't be that bitter.

The Steelers had to make some type of offer if Weddle "allegedly" narrowed his choices to; DAL, PIT, OAK and BAL.

Poor young Bell doesn't realize the only thing that is too late is his arrival to the Steelers. Ben is breaking down in front of our eyes. Steelers hate aside, Bell is a fantastic young player but unfortunately for him, he is a few years too late

No way a QB isn't drafted in the top 5. Out of the top 5, 1 needs a QB like now and the other 2 should've been thinking about life after their current QB's (Rivers and Romo). One of those guys will drop and I really hope it's ramsey or bosa

LaCanfora tweeted I think yesterday that Steelers never made formal offer. Weren't considered realistic players by people inside.

To: Le'Veon Bell.....and to all of the Steeler fans out there that are hating on our signing and bad mouthing our NEWEST RAVEN Eric Weddle in their comments and tweets.....SOUR GRAPES I guess.....because you were NOT able to sign him.....it's just too bad that our Ravens can't play the Steelers all 16 games during the regular NFL season.....it would be so FANtastic to be 16-0 entering the play-offs and sweep them.....like we did this past season!!!!!

In the what are we thinking category why would we have any interest in Harvin.
You sign him and then put him on IR immediately. Take his salary and light a
match to it...

LeVeon Bell, you are a 'Johny come lately' to being a good RB. Don't let it get to your head, because you will be sorry when you face the Ravens. The one team you shouldn't anger are the Baltimore Ravens. Just ask Mendenhall for advice before you shoot your mouth on twitter.

If the Steelers want to motivate us this offseason, they are certainly doing a good job through social media. Please give us more juice!

I don't think Harvin is a realistic fit, unless he is getting a bargain 1-3M/YR deal. Too many teams have given him a shot only to let him go within a year or two.

It sounds like Mike Wallace is getting wooed by our staff all day today. It will be interesting to see if they let him leave without a contract.

I agree, but if that happens, you better believe we will get trade offers from teams looking to get ahead of SF. Eagles, Bears, Saints, Rams, Jets, and Broncos should all be interested.

All we would need to do is trade up 1 spot and that would get us a defensive player that we covet.OR we stay put and grab the Lt that is on all the mocks. Win-Win

And also, I'm quite sure the Ravens and Steelers plaers and execs always respected the hell out of each other. Great rivalries are always built upon mutual respect. And both the Ravens and Steelers organizations have a lot to respect about the other.

What do you expect Bell to say. He was deliberately yanking the chains of Ravens fans and stoking the rivalry. I actually think it is great marketing in keeping the Ravens/Steelers rivalry relevant when both teams pretty much sucked last year. He knows they got swept last year and he knows the Ravens have beaten the Steelers like 6 of the last 8 games they have played. The Steelers wanted Weddle and Bell knows it and I am sure it hurts to know that its not a Ravens fan who chose the Ravens over the Steelers but one of the most astute players and best safeties in the league who would rather be in black and purple than black and gold. Weddle, like Ryan Clarke, knows which of the organizations is one of the most respected and best in the league. Joking aside, as much as we hate the Steelers, as the players all say, we respect the heck out of them for what they have done and for their front office as well.

Agreed that there's a certain level of respect shared by the organizations and players.  However, there are players on both sides that I'm sure were truly hated, i.e., Hines Ward.

Couple things...get Mike Wallace signed today.
As far as that mock draft... how can Cleveland or Dallas not take Qbs?
Browns have nobody after cutting Maziel, and dont sell me on Josh McCown a career journeyman, Dallas needs Romos replacement..hes broke his collarbone like 3x in 3 yrs. Now hes 36-37.. he only has a couple yrs left

Love it when the Steelers start yapping... that's when you know they're scared. And they most certainly WERE in the running for Weddle, don't let the post-signing spin fool you.

It's the off-season, players say stupid things, and do stupid things, because they don't know what to do with their down time....Nothing can be said to dislike the Steelers anymore than they are already disliked......

It will all depend on where Kap and RGIII go. CLE is interested in Kap. DAL "says" they wont pick a QB in the first. It's possible no one takes a QB in which case our #6 may fetch a high price to teams looking to move up ahead of SF. Personally I think SF should see how Kap does under Chip Kelly in which case CLE takes a QB. DAL may be blowing hot air and take one as well. Thats the best case for us at least. It will most likely be somewhere in the middle where 1 QB is taken ahead of us.

I think we really need to shore up our pass rush, we have spent so much time focusing on the secondary....Pit showed they could go pretty deep into the playoffs with the 27th ranked pass defense, and it was because they off-set a worse secondary with a solid pass rush....3rd in Sacks, and a top 5 rush defense saved their secondary from really being bad....We have to get to the QB, you can have the greatest secondary on this planet, but if you allow a N.F.L QB time to throw, they will pick it apart....Yes getting a healthy Suggs back will no doubt help, but we have to get more output from our front 3 or 4....JMO....
