Great signing. Basically a 2 year deal. Missed only 7 games in his career. Between this signing and Leslie Fraser Ravens have gone from the out house to the penthouse. Great job, Ozzie.

Agreed, everyone keeps saying how good in coverage he is, which I have seen in the past, but creating turnovers as of recently? Not so much, there are a lot of cons to the pros hear I feel. But am optimistic he will thrive here and we will use him properly. At least he is a solid tackler and durable lol

We have 3 guys under contract and we don't know what position they will ultimately play. Weddle can play both saftey positions, Webb to me would be decent at fs, Will Hill is SS only and Kedrick Lewis is the black sheep that we need to get rid of. Sucks because his contract is so fresh. Terrence Brooks will be a good ss eventually hes nasty. Elam and him are great young backups but I can see a team trying to reach out to get Hill or Lewis.

Maybe, but what is guaranteed? Most likely closer to 6 or 7 million with bonuses, etc. The price is a bit much, but if you look at how many games were lost by a single score, shoring up the backup was sorely needed period. As long the Ravens can part ways in a team friendly manner if and when his production declines without dead-money is the important thing. Hopefully won't be until the end of his contract. Where did you read about the contract figures?

Great Job!..Now we can solidify the CB position and find a lock down corner in the draft to pair with Jimmy S. And find one or two D linemen to sure up the pass rush. The ravens can then face the Bengals.

I really don't get this. We need to get younger and faster on a defensive unit that badly needs more speed and athleticism. We already have 2 starting safeties, and one is getting corner money, and we have a ton of backups competing for depth. We only have one solid starting corner, we don't have a reliable LT, we have limited cap space, and we spend $7mil/year(not sure how much is guaranteed), plus a comp pick, on a S who is on the wrong side of 30 and has lost a step from his prime. I do think he can help the team, but I don't think he was worth anywhere near that kind of investment.

I know its not a popular opinion but Webb is now, and has always been, a burden on the team. Think of a year where he lived up to his contract? Not flashes, but a whole year; an injury free year.....There hasnt been one since his rook contract.

I say to drop him and Lewis from that safety squad and give Elam one last shot at sticking around.

I like the signing, but now we've definitely gotta let some safeties go. That'll be a hard choice, and definitely one of the more interesting battles of the preseason.
