Welcome to Baltimore Eric Weddle!

I may be in the minority but I don't like it for the price.  4 years, 26M to add a 14th safety to the roster.  I guess we'll see how many safeties are getting cut soon.  I'm guessing Lewis, Elam, and Hill.

For the record I'm fine with the player, just not the price

Now we know why Ozzie was clearing cap. Amazing signing by the Wizard of Oz once again!

Do you actually think we're cutting Will Hill? Seriously?

Also, Eric Weddle is a game changer, not th "14th safety to the roster".

By "14th safety" I was referring to the total number in a sarcastic tone, not his place on the depth chart.  And Hill is definitely a possibility given how many snaps he started losing at the end of the season, while healthy, and his almost 3M savings if released

This could very well be just what this team needed. An elite FS is what's hurt our chances at a repeat. Love the move if he's the same Weddle, and I see no reason he's not.

Lol Will Hill getting cut. Ravens have one of the best duos @ safety position right now. It was a great signing. I couldn't care less about Elam or Lewis. They both suck

Signing Weddle has to be an absolute gut punch to Elam and Brooks.  Oh well we're in win now mode.

The best 11 defenders will earn their way on the field.

Brookes will probably stay on the roster for atleast one more season. Too much potential, not enough time to learn the position. Elam on the other hand. I feel really sorry for the guy, but he's just not good enough. Maybe a change of scenery will help him improve.

Great signing.

What comes next?

Would love for Webb to restructure and lower his cap number, maybe even ask Hill and Elam to do the same.  I would think that all 3 may also have some trade value if we wanted to get the contract off the books and pick up another asset.

I don't think he's ironclad, either. He blew a good number of coverages and had his share of lapses. Guess it's on the FO/coaches to determine whether those were his slip-ups, whether he he was covering up for someone else, scheme, etc.

That said, in my amateur opinion, I'd like him back. Still, what do we do with an expensive Webb and underwhelming Elam and Lewis?

Much welcomed addition.  This makes the draft that much more interesting.  Still say corner or trade down.

Let's get it fellas
