Why cant the U.S have a Rugby league?

Thats a worlds sport too. We have soccer the MLS. Why cant the U.S have Rugby? My idea is start with 12 teams 6 from East Coast and 6 from West Coast. 4 Playoff teams. 20 game schedule From 1st week of march Til 2nd week of July. Playoffs start in july Championship game Aug 2nd. Play every sunday afternoon game a 1PM

Because the money isn't there.  Not enough of a fan base.  I love sports,  but I don't know anything about rugby nor am I interested in it.   I don't want a market of over-saturated sports just to have them

Soccer is is the most popular sport in to the world.... Where does rugby fall on that list?

Well Baltimore doesn't have a team. So why don't USARL get 2 expansion teams Baltimore and Cleveland?

To be fair, that's rugby league - which is a different sport again (and it explains why the Rhinos and Sharks have the exact same logos as the professional rugby league sides from Leeds and Cronulla respectively). There actually is a professional league that's starting this year, but sadly it's only got five sides atm and the fact that a Kiwi in an American forum had to be the one to point it out says a lot.

It's only small yet, but the MLS took years to become what it did. I've got a soft spot for American rugby, so it'd be cool to see that league succeed.
