It looks some player(s) might be on their way out. To crowded in that back end.

June 1st cuts will occur to clear cap space. Lewis, Webb, and Elam are the most likely victims.

Starting to think Webb may be expendable. He does have value being able to play both safety and corner but we could save a nice chunk of change if we released him..if we signed weddle on a year deal or two I wouldnt think so but welocked him up for 4 years..might mean webby could be on the chopping block?

Eric Weddle is coming to Baltimore. I feel just like most of you, I think this was a nice signing. Now we have Will Hill, Webb, and now Eric Weddle. I didn't name all safeties like Arrington and Lewis, because I think one of them will get cut.

I was really unsure if were going to make any other moves in free agency, which kind of had me nervous. So now we wait for the news with Mike Wallace hopefully it wont be a problem. I think Mike Wallace knows that his stock and his numbers are down since leaving our most hated rivals the Steelers. I don't know if the Vikings knew how to use him or not, but maybe him and Joe can get on the same page and make some beautiful deep ball throws and catches.

I saw on twitter where D'Angelo Williams had wrote, "What's the emoji for Eric Weddle signing with hated Ravens?" He had put some peace signs and some other crap. His emoji looks he played for the Chargers. I don't know why he's talking noise he was let go to from the Panthers. Now what's the emoji for that?

Can we please go ahead and lock up Brandon Williams with some of this money so he doesn't price himself out of here

agreed! I would rather pay him now than Weddle or Wallace!

I think elam Will stay. still on his rookie deal. He'll get one more shot to prove himself.

They no longer have to wait till June first. The can designate a player a "June first" cut and either spread out the cap hit, or straight out cut and absorb the hit all in this year.

Not a fan of signing Weddle at all. For one, he will cost a chunk of money. Probably commanding upward of $5 million a year. Two, his production and health have dipped significantly. He hasn't really had that good of a season in years and has minimal pass break ups or interceptions. I think Webby has better ball skills and is already on the team. Save the money and pay Williams and Upshaw

Lets please take Pitta out of the equation. What are you waiting for? Pitta must be trying to squeeze the last penny out of that awful deal that was made. Please get this over with.

Well this is not something I considered or hoped for. I felt like Webb moving back to safety and will hill would give us a decent tandem and also figured Brooks would fit in there on nickel situations.

I didn't pay much attention to the Chargers or weddle last year to know if he still has anything left a 4yr deal seems too long.

Much rather have Weddle than Webb. Webb is being paid like a top corner, he needs to restructure or get released. Pitta should just retire, it's over.

4yr deal worth 29M this seems like a terrible for a declining player. Very confused why they would make this move. Weddle would have to play at an All Pro level to justify this deal.

Well signing Weedle was a bit of a shock but not by that much. Just means for sure that there is now a game of musical chairs at the safety position. Time for young-er blood Brooks and Elam to step up, least they find themselves without a roster spot. All I hope is that Weedle's deal is team friendly in that if his performance is not there or degrades as e ages they can part ways without a ton of dead-money on the books. Still wondering if Webb will be restructuring his deal for market value safety pay vs CB?

Since we have a little cap space it's time to lock up Upshaw for this season and Brandon Wm's for his post rookie contract. Our "D" needs these two more than a free agent receiver or another safety. We have a plethora of draft picks that should be able to help us out at those positions if needed.

Upshaw hasn't developed into a pass rusher. We need guys who harass the QB.

Upshaw is a "do not pass" player, with some capacity to rush the passer. His main purpose is to set the edge and inflict pain on ball carriers and QB's. I wouldn't expect him to drastically change, still he is a solid solid player at his position. He is and has been a central piece to Raven ground defense. This guy needs to be re-signed. Clearly other teams do not value his skills as much which is fine with Ravens Nation.

Brooks will be cut I feel, Elam has to show he has improved in coverage, which outside of his poor tackling in 2014, he was a semi-solid safety even though he was being asked to do a lot as a young player. Webb will have to take a pay cut or we must find a way to get creative with his skills or sadly let him go too.

@RavensDieHard21 l think Brooks stays he's positive Elam and Kendrick Lewis are the ones gone. Webb stays so it should be Brooks, Webb, Weddle, and Will Hill.

"Weddle has been a dynamic and consistent playmaker for the Chargers and would represent an upgrade over Will Hill, Kendrick Lewis and Lardarius Webb.” Kinda makes you wonder why their still on the team!

i say elam due 2.1 , levine 1.2 and lewis 1.8 will be released. Webb will stay.

What about A. Brown? The other fine pick by Ozzie.

Re: Kaepernick Trade. He initially reported wanting to be a Brown under Hue Jackson, but is reconsidering now that he realizes his reported salary restructure would be too steep. His current deal is has him earning $12M this year with small increases to $19M in 2020 - well below the current FA market values.

RE: Courtney Upshaw. He's one of the most underrated linebackers out there. If teams overlook him the Ravens won't. He's physical and Roethlisberger has another reason to play scared against the Ravens with him here. Remember the two licks he laid on him that left him bruised for weeks? Though penalized unfairly, they should've been sacks. He's a beast and the rest of the world just doesn't know it yet.

Re: Mike Wallace. I'm not sure about signing him. He looks like he could be our version of the Broncos and Emmanuel Sanders. That said, 3 seasons with declining performances isn't very encouraging. Still I'm inclined to believe that he was just in bad offenses that didn't know how to use him. I think we can make it work. Hopefully he comes at a good price, but the log jam at WR is looking really bad names like Givens, Butler, Jacob, Worthy, Clay, both Browns and maybe even Campanaro (although that one would be surprising).

why would they cut brooks? he's on his rookie deal. that wouldn't make sense

they aren't going to cut brooks or elam they are still on their rookie deals. we wouldn't be saving much by cutting them. If they do get cut it will be in the roster cuts right before the season starts.

Easy answer...because Lewis, Hill and Webb are better than Levine, Elam, and Brooks, who are the other safeties on the team.

They don't grow great players on trees.
