I want them to sign Weedle the most. Having Weddle and Will Hill will give us two great combos in the backend of our defense and Weddle can get interceptions. Wallace will be ok only if its not pricey. Wallace and Peeriman two great speeders for Joe Flacco. It's like having Torrey and Jacoby again.

Initially, I thought Martavis Bryant being suspended was great for us, and it is. Of course that means someone else who might be potentially better can replace him.

Didn't know Wallace was due $11M at MIN this season.   I'm sure there are a few teams willing to offer Wallace $5M a year.

I would be surprised if we got him for a "low ball" deal @ $3M per.

No to Weddle, i think we have plenty of Safeties in house who can get it done, i'm fine with Wallace, and i really hope we resign Upshaw....Underrated, and under appreciated by many, but he obviously is a solid and important player or he wouldn't have played as much as he has.....jmo.....

IMO he would be an upgrade over EVERY safety we have in-house, except for maybe Hill.

So if others lose their job b/c we get Weddle, so be it.

Personally, I think he goes to Oakland.  1.  They have cash.  2. That keeps him close to his family and the SD area that I read he loves.

I think Weddle was over-paid when he signed his big deal with SD, he has never led the team deep into any playoffs that i know of, i think Hill, and Webb can be a solid duo back there for us, i rather see the money go towards upgrading the O-Line or a pass rusher....JMO....

@stixfix69 I want them to sign Weddle because hes better than any safety we have on our roster and our turnovers would improve. If we do cut some players cut like Matt Elam, Kendrick Lewis etc, and keep Brooks, Webb, Weddle, and Hill. I do want them to resign Upshaw though hes's not that expensive to sign. Ozzie should sign Weddle, Mike Wallace, and Upshaw and be done in free agency and then work at Justin Tucker long term deal. That should be the plan.

Oz might also be having money available to resign some of our own, or for post draft cuts....As usual he is playing everything close to the vest, and we are all playing GM, until he shows his hand...:)

Weddle would make our big nickel situation awesome. He and Webby deep and Hill up in the Box. Hmmm....Webby can come up in the box and play nickel corner on 11 and 10 personnel sets on tradition nickel sets. I do hope we resign Upshaw however. He can set the edge and Smith is not ready for that roll yet.

Can we please go ahead and lock up Brandon Williams with some of this money so he doesn't price himself out of here

Big yes on Wallace!.....Big no on Weddle.......Wallace would really help our receivers and joe. And also Love seeing J.O. anytime....hopefully the beagles will be so depleted this year we can come close to competing with them.......but we need young fresh pass rushers to do that!

Since we have a little cap space it's time to lock up Upshaw for this season and Brandon Wm's for his post rookie contract. Our "D" needs these two more than a free agent receiver or another safety. We have a plethora of draft picks that should be able to help us out at those positions if needed.

Upshaw hasn't developed into a pass rusher. We need guys who harass the QB.

Pretty sure the teams value in Upshaw isn't as a pass rusher, but for setting the edge, and his services would no doubt prolong Doom, and Suggs productivity as pass rushers, until Z.Smith can become the pass rusher we hope for, or others who might step in over the next few years.....Also haven't given up hope he could get reps as a ILBer...JMO....

We'll see what they end up doing with all the cap space they freed up. I won't break a sweat if we don't sign either Weddle or Wallace right now. Down the road when cuts are happening across the NFL, we're sure to find some really good play makers to help our team.

If that happens, I'd give ozzie an A for the off season pending a good draft

I'll put on my GM hat: Sign Williams to an extension, Resign Upsahw , Contract to Tucker & Sign Wallace. We need speed and we need it big time. Wallace would have a bounce back year with Flacco.

3 picks in 3 years... sounds like a Ravens safety to me...

He played for one of the worst pass rushes in the NFL for the last 5 years. Weddle is a known playmaker who has earned the respect of his peers. If you watch him play he is all over the field. He is a film room junkie, who gets everyone lined up properly, and provides leadership to a unit lacking it. This is an A+ signing if it is under 6M/YR.

WOW! Weddle is a bona fide stud. Only missed 3 games in his career. Weddle and Hill. Think we just went from the out house to the pent house.
