[News] Late For Work 3/10: Ravens Interested In WR Mike Wallace 'If Price Is Right'

I would love to sign Wallace, a perfect wideout with speed and will have a chip on his shoulder. Grimes was cut by Miami he would be great as well!

Mike Wallace makes sense for the right money, good teammate and brings swag to the field. I wonder why he fell off?

I am of the opinion that the FO is working to shore up the offense in FA so we can take the best defensive players available in the draft. They may keep Monroe, bring in a vet that can play T or G and have Hurst and Urshcel as backup/rotating players.

He has the speed but the Dolphins offense has been iffy the last decade and the Vikings didn't really have a downfield passing game.

After all the signings and restructures we've done I'm completely unaware of our salary cap situation, but I hope it's enough to sign Wallace and atleast entertain the idea of Grimes.I'm not completely sold on Grimes because I think we could get close to what he would bring to us for less with some of the other guys that are out there.

I'm more concerned with the Joe Flacco issues that have not been addressed. Joe Flacco needs to be able to get the ball to speedy wide receivers. I would rather have TD's than defensive pass interference calls. Get the ball there Joe. If Laquon Treadwell falls back far enough considering he didn't run at the combine. Get him in the 2nd round.

Yesterday on the final drive video Garrett acted like Ozzie spent 100 million in free agency and signed a tackle, receiver and corner with a title "Maybe we Should Have Believed Ozzie" when he said he was going to be very active in free agency. I hardly count a 35 year old tight end who had his best year catching passes from Drew Brees just last year as being very active in free agency and no additional moves except talking about Wallace who is a cap casualty not a true UFA. Granted Ozzie never does anything so I guess signing a long snapper would have gotten attention but I think that its a little overkill for what we have done in free agency to claim that Ozzie is "very active" and now he's made MOVES (plural) to make that happen. Sorry, 1 transaction does not constitute moves in my book.

Yeah, that made me laugh, too. One signing in the first day, plus no confirmed interests already make a Ravens-off season "crazy" and "active" :)

Wallace's right price is about $5 million a year max. cannot pay players on the distant past. He would certainly be an upgrade to givens. I like the comparison of Wallace and Perriman being like a Torrey and Jacoby, but we'll see if the price is right, step on down!

Ozzie snaps his fingers and suddenly we have 14+ mill in cap space. Can't wait to see how we utilize it.

Don't forget that we must reserve some of it for the rookie contracts.

The most exciting thing is that we can afford to spend almost all of it.We'll probably be releasing Pitta after June 1st and that extra 5 mil should be enough to get the rookies signed and still have a million or two left.

He went to the wrong rosters: neither the Phins nor the Vikes have a QB who can utilise his main strength: speed. You can be the fastest WR around if your QB can't throw deep enough.
He was like a prime RB without a good FB and O-line.

Yeah, both would be good addiions - sadly, bot the WR- and CB-markets are very slim this year, so both will be very hot commodities - almost surely both out of our price range.

Releasing Pitta after June 1st will give us enough to sign the rookies.

Hey Bio--Any idea on Ozzie's plan now that we have 14 million utc? More cuts coming that will be more money. What is he thinking of doing? iyo

This is Oz being active.....He usually doesn't make moves until he gets all the guys we want back signed, then signs BPA left in the FA market...:)

This explains Ozzie's comment a few weeks ago about being able to manage if Flacco didn't extend his contract.

There was already a plan in place to redo other player's contracts to free up cap space.

So far a 35yo tight end at the end of his career signed to a 2 year 8m deal. Ozzie is at it again same as last year building a team built to lose

Flacco's was pretty much the only sure thing to redo, the others he asked over the last few days were to build up his cap space ammo....But Oz will slow play it and get the most talent he can with the money he has.....

Let's just work through the draft and June 1st cuts. I am sure there's a few reasons Wallace has been bouncing around the league.
