[News] Reports: Cornerback Kyle Arrington Agrees To Pay Cut

18 posts in this topic

I'm surprised they asked him to take a pay cut and just didn't cut him outright.

it was smarter to not cut him since we need depth at the position and he should know the defense now that he has a year under his belt.

although he was a liability last year, he does have familiarity now, and every yearwe get thin at the CB position, so i like the move

he should show improvement with a year under his belt and frazier running the secondary now. keeping all of these cb's kind of makes me think that cb will not be the choice in the 1st rd or 2nd for that matter. will be interesting to see what they do with pick #6.

NICE.... I am glad to have Arrington back. I think he is better then he played... but then again... NO DB's play well under Pees. I am hoping that Leslie Frazier makes a difference... and if he does... I think that Arrington has the talent to help out and help out tremendously! Glad he is back!

Lets see, Jimmy Smith, go get Pacman or Cromartie, S.Wright, Arrington, hopefully draft Ramsey.. but it not pick up someone later on.. that would be better then last year.

But still gotta improve Pass Rush

Smart move by Kyle. He keeps his job and it will motivate him to prove himself. No what if's for his near future. With a better secondary coach and a year under the ravens system I think he'll do better than last year. Solid move by the FO. to keep him when he's willing to take a pay cut to get another chance. Even if he doesn't get a starting job he'll still get playing time and be the #1 backup.

A little ray of sunshine is peaking through in our cap crisis lol I think we need to leave him in the slot and allow him to do what he does best!

Leave him in the slot (Pees). And keep Jimmy in press coverage. I feel our defensive players aren't used in the best way sometimes.

Arrington may not the a shutdown CB but he is still more consistent that a lot fo lesser talents. Makes sense to retain him especially without a clear replacement lined up. Wonder when/if Webb's contract get's renegotiated. Safeties generally do not earn CB money, which is what Webb is currently earning. Yanda still amazes me with his hard worth ethic and commitment to winning and being a team player. Thanks for helping out the team (and yourself). Only question I have now is which of the seemingly endless possibilities at safety are going to stand up and take the starting job? Stop looking around wondering who it's going to be and take the job. I sense a small purge at safety after camp.

Pees is not the DB coach. Secondary went to crap after Reed and Pollard left. Teryl Austin went to be Detroit's DC. Jimmy Smith and Webb were hurt. Elam was playing CB. DB's were actually playing well towards the end of 2015 season.

Teryl Austin took Ihedigbo with him in 2014. Good move after losing Dennis Pitta for the season in practice. Webb started the season hurt. Jimmy Smith had a foot injury later keeping Bernard out of the end zone at the one yard line. Chykie Brown was next on the depth chart and nothing else at CB. It followed into 2015. Jimmy Smith was coming off a foot injury. Ravens took Tray Walker in the 4th round. RIP.
