A legit pay cut at that, even if he didn't have much of choice after last season. Yanda just allocated money and doesn't lose any. Still, can't complain about players like Joe, Marshall and Kyle cooperating with the FO.

I respect the move from Arrington (obviously respect the move from Yanda, Flacco, and whoever else as well).  Knows he didn't play well and hopefully comes back hungry.  The dude comes from an organization that only knows one thing: winning and came to an organization that typically only knows one thing: winning.  Hopefully with another year in the scheme he'll figure things out again a little bit.

I don't understand why they don't have Eugene Monroe restructure or Webb? I think Yanda earned every penny and they restructured his contract.

Yanda still received every penny also.  A restructure is just getting your salary that year upfront as a signing bonus so the team can spread that cap hit evenly to the remaining years.  Marshal is still getting every dime, nickel, and cent of that contract

Now a paycut (Webb last season and Arrington this year) is when you simply lose money

Maybe we're not sold on keeping Monroe and we're avoiding him because if we restructure him it'll be tough to cut him. Webb may be on his last leg here if he doesn't succeed at FS.

Restructure doesn't mean less money. It actually means more money up front. Salary converts to signing bonus and cap hit is prorated through length of contract.

Webb doesn't really have that much contract left to where restructuring would make a difference, and restructuring Monroe's contract would be idiotic because he'd get more money that we'd be taking a cap hit for for years, even though he might get cut. And right now, it doesn't make sense to cut him. We'd have a whopping $2M in savings, and we'd still have to find a LT. I  hate Monroe but at least he's somewhat competent when healthy.

Monroe was asked to restructure last year without a pay cut and refused.
