[News] Report: Ravens Agree To Deal With TE Benjamin Watson

I don't like this signing. They wasted valuable cap space that could have went towards signing Pacman,Jerraud Powers or Greg Toler. We already have enough at TE with Gilmore and Williams. The front office should really be looking into pass rushers,CB's and somebody like Mike Wallace who can give us speed on the outside since Perriman is a question mar both health wise and ability wise.

The Broncos just released Owen Daniels who is already familiar with our system and already knows our tight ends. In addition, he has been concsistently better that Watson year after year. Watson had a good year last year, the first since 2010, where Daniels has been consistently productive. Of course, we can sign them both if there isn't a lot of guaranteed money involved, and see which one works out.

this is a good signing because watson is durable. cockett is injury prone, boyles gone for 10 games and williams is taking longer to come along than expected. We need watson

Please dont bring Pacman anywhere near this organization.

veteran presence in the locker room is always welcomed. wonder if the fo will look into olb bjoern werner who was the colts 1st rd pick in 2013. still very young and a change of scenery may be what the doctor ordered. they released him today

Sad we couldnt keep Osemele, this changes up the draft tactic. Looks like LT might be our new #1 priority.

nope we still have monroe

good thing we resigned our kicker and punter because with this offensive roster those two positions will definitely be getting the most work

He might be a backup on most teams but he will come in as the number one TE on the Ravens. Hopefully, he can teach the young ones how to score TDs for Flacco.

Daniels would ensure that they cut the 'roid rookie of the year.

The only sad thing about this deal is that it all but guaranteed to mean we won't see Pitta again on the field. The writing has been kind of on the wall for some time, still it's sad.

It will hardly change the draft strategy IMHO. Stanley was widely held as the safest bet anyway.

great signing, high character guy, a leader in the locker A good player, he will push Gilmore for starting job, wouldnt be surprised if he wins it.

Where's the kool-aid? Character is good and appreciated in the Ravens organization. The guy will help provide depth, but at 35, he will not be the lead dog unless due to injury/recovery. In all honesty, he will likely be gone next season, unless Boyle decides to fail another drug test. The TE position, is actually quite good. Now they need to get healthy and mind the details of testing, but those growing pains will pass. Pitta can still come back, and would probably be a welcome sight IF is happens. He won't cost anything else above what he's already due, has high character and rapport with Joe. I don't want to see him get injured again, but I'm hoping he comes back and is actually fully healed and then some.

Finally someone who understands. So many people going into panic mode on the forums. Ozzie had a flexible plan in place. why else would he up K.O.'s apparent value. Either K.O. was going to cash in big elsewhere and give the Ravens another pick next season or the Ravens would keep him at a reasonable market value. Keeping K.O. would have been the only way Monroe was let go. Monroe is now effectively playing for his future in the league. If he is not able to play a healthy season this year, you can bet he's probably on his way out, at least of Baltimore. Whatever happens after that will basically ride on what he does as a player this year.

Why? If he counts against the compensatory pick formula, I'm not too happy especially considering he is 35 yrs old...

OZ loves giving Joe old men to throw to . No wonder he can't get past 4,000 yards. So much for getting younger and faster.
