We don't need Wallace to be "the guy". He just needs to be a threat. Stretch the defense, provide YAC, move those chains. For the right price, hopefully he can do that. Smith Sr, Aiken, Wallace, Perriman (?), Campanero (healthy?), Matthews may be a solid core. You size, speed, slot, Red Zone covered.

i would offer him 4 million a year for 2 years with a healthy bonus.  Having speed draws the defense back into coverage allowing holes to open up in the line for the running game.  We were so predictable last year with the dink and dunk approach.  If he won't take a low price, then forget him and draft a receiver in the second round.

I think that is a fair deal for the talent Wallace brings. First you have to consider that a young Tannehill and Bridgewater were the QBs that have been throwing to Wallace so his numbers since he left The Squealers are suspect and not due to his abilities. He is easily an 800 -1000 yard receiver with the right QB. There wasn't a significant spike in his drops when leaving Pitt which makes you believe he wasn't getting the looks or the routes/throws were questionable. Second, with the increase in the salary cap and due to some questionable accounting regarding the cap calculation the NFL looks to increase the cap quite significantly which means that every new contract is going to reflect an increase in the cap, so with all things considered, considering what is out there, thats a good deal. Still with what we paid Weddle, we can easily afford the cap hit for both of them, still have some left, and that doesn't include what we will save by cutting Webb, Monroe and Pitta which will be another 8-10 mil.

Mike Wallace has never impressed me. The last three years are on the downward trend and he fumbles.

That is not a fair assessment, last 3 years he had Ryan Tannehill and Teddy Bridgewater as his QB, realistically what did you expect him to be able to do. I think he would do much better with Flacco's arm

the reports are his deal is 2 years 11.5 mil. now that we have signed him. are we out of our freaking minds?! 6 mil is almost more than the rest of our entire WR corps combined, for a crappy marginal guy with bad hands. Smith is 4 mil. I would not have cared if he signed for a veteran minimum and we could cut him loose, but this is insanity. i think they overpaid for Watson too, but at least he brings some leadership and professionalism. This guy is just a bum.

A bum who averages 7 TD's a year, 15.2 YPC, and runs a sub 4.4 40... His last three seasons were spent on a rich contract in schemes that did not fit his style of play, with QB's who can't throw deep. We will get him vertical a heck of a lot more than Minnesota or Miami. Flacco has a cannon and we convert a ton of deep passes.

We lost Boldin, Torrey, and Jacoby.
We add Smith Sr., Wallace, and Perriman.

I like where this is going...

"Ravens ‘Looking Seriously’ At Mike Wallace" Now that's funny. No secondary, no linebackers, no left or right Tackle but lets look at a old receiver. Ravens will have to change their name to the bats because they will be in the basement for so long where its dark. Sooner or latter John and Ozzie's art work on this team has to take some kind of form but nothing yet.

The Ravens still have Eugene Monroe at LT and while he may not be the best in the league, he's good when he's healthy, but that is a big question mark coming off of last season. He's been pretty banged up the last couple of seasons and I agree this is an area of concern. I completely disagree with you at RT as Rick Wagner has been a very strong contributor to the O-Line. At linebacker we have C.J. Mosley, Terrell Suggs, and Elvis Dumervil. The health and age questions are there with Suggs, but he's proven that he's a very good player when healthy. I agree they need to find a partner for Mosley in the middle that can cover and at the end of the season it looked like that guy was Zach Orr. We still have Arthur Brown who I believe is on his last legs here. If he was going to show he has anything to offer, now would be a great time. So yeah, they need to get younger at OLB and find some new production there.

More worrying to me is that the ends on this team don't seem to do much. I think part of that is solved with Lawrence Guy. He didn't light up any radars but was one of the more productive guys along the D-line and if you don't believe me take a look at his numbers. Brandon Williams is a beast, but we need to get something out of the other end slot whether that is Carl Davis or Timmy Jernigan or somebody else. Jernigan has got to stop it with the idiotic penalties.

The secondary was experiencing a lot of injuries last year. Jimmy Smith and Webb were not healthy at all and the rotation at safety due to injuries also didn't help things. Weddle and Will Hill should be solid players that should play a majority of the snaps all season. Webb most likely lines up on third down or passing situations as a 3rd corner or safety.

The problem on offense last season clearly was production at WR.

Weddle would be a great addition, but we would almost be guaranteed to never see if Webby would be a good safety. The money saved from cutting webby would have to equal Weddle's deal hopefully. We just need a safety tandem that can provide adequate back up and force turnovers at this point.

now it's weedle and webby on the backend and smith, wright and arrington on the front end

What about Will Davis? I'm pretty sure he starts above Arrington when healthy

Agreed (unless we get Jack) but with Cleveland possibly not taking a QB and Jack showing off at pro day... Can't rely on him being there sadly

I might be in the minority here but man, if we took ezekiel elliot.. I would be extatic with that big play ability. We wouldnt have to rely on joe to throw the ball so much, we would have a balanced offense and that would help our passing game!

I'm convinced Cleveland is not taking a QB and Myles Jack being gone before we pick.

I'm at the "it's unlikely" point, about the same as D Smith coming back for cheap

You'd really address a position of absolutely no need with your first round pick?

Most Ravens first rounds picks have been a bust anyway.

At first I didn't think Myles Jack would even be a possibility. But the closer we get to the draft and the longer they go without making a move for a proven LB to play along side CJ Mosley it doesn't sound like a crazy idea. That could be a scary LB group for a long time with Mosley and Jack leading the way. The verdict is still out on Brown but if he puts it together the Ravens could be set at LB for years to come.

Well, that claim sounds bold, doesn't it? Let's see if it stands the test of truth. Here's the complete list of the Ravens 1st round picks:

Ogden, Ray Lewis, Boulware, Duane Starks, Chris McAllister, Jamal Lewis, Travis Taylor, Todd Heap, Ed Reed, Suggs, Kyle Boller, Mark Clayton, Ngata, Ben Grubbs, Flacco, Oher, Jimmy Smith, Elam, C. J. Mosley, Perriman

Which of these 20 players constitute the "most of them" you designate as busts?

Bummer :(

Well, he was on the decline. He's probably got one or two more productive seasons in him, and apparently Ozzie and Harbaught considers Zach Orr or Brown a good enough replacement (or at least fitting Ozzie's 80/20 rule)

At least he's out of the AFC, so the next time he could play against us (provided he stays with the Bucs) is in 2018.

Hey Oz we need to resign Courtney Upshaw before we lose him to the Patriots or another team. We cannot keep losing our good seasoned players year after year and maintain a playoff type team.
