Harbaugh ranked 4th best coach this year.

Yes, it's this one guy's opinion, but how can you argue w/ anything he said?  Funny how people in here thought he should have lost his job after last season.  Le sigh.

Quote

If you watch enough sports, you will eventually see everything. A Red Sox World Series victory. A Leicester City title run. A John Harbaugh losing season. Yes, after seven years of .500 or better football, Harbaugh finally knows what it’s like to notch fewer than eight victories. It took a biblical wave of injuries — Joe Flacco, Terrell Suggs, Steve Smith Sr., Breshad Perriman, Jeremy Zuttah and Eugene Monroe amongst many, many others — but he knows all the same. We doubt he gets used to it. Since taking over as a first-time head coach in 2008, Harbaugh has 10 playoff victories compared to that one losing campaign. He’s won a Super Bowl and beat Bill Belichick twice in the postseason. He’s never stopped winning even as future Hall-of-Famers like Ray Lewis and Ed Reed walk out the door. Harbaugh is not a mastermind like his brother Jim or an auteur like his arch-rival Belichick. He’s a captain who gets the ship to port on time, no matter the storms around him.      ,

That's a fair ranking, he's earned his way into the upper echelon when, early in his career, guys like Mike Smith and Tony Sparano were getting accolades over him (with less to show for it). I remember Gregg Rosenthal of NFL.com rating Dennis Allen and Jim Schwartz in a class above Harbaugh in 2012. The dust has cleared and here he is, 8 years in, with gaudy production. Hard to deny it.

Surprised that Kubiak was only 15th on that list, he's a better coach than some of those above him.

John likely only fell to #4 due to this past season.  Otherwise he'd still be top 3 like he should be.  He may not be an x's and o's type of coach, but as a fan that used to watch my team have a good season, followed by a bad season and repeat that process practically every year, it's nice to have a coach like John who can keep a team motivated to do their best on the field no matter what happens.  A 4th string QB with two week of practice and a 2nd string offense went in there and beat Pittsburgh.  That doesn't happen to often

Harbaugh coached his butt off this past year.  He had that team out there playing hard every game despite the losing season and the odds stacked against them.

Exactly this.

It was a loosing season with absolutely nothing to gain.

And still the vast majority of the players, played their butts off.

The intensity and passion was outstanding.

I was SUPER  proud of my team.

( let's not make it a habit though ;)  )

I agree with 1, 2-5 In some order and 6-9 in some order. Obrien?  What.

Yeah that doesn't make any sense. Kubiak should be over O'Brien. Hands down

I don't think I'd agree with Kubiak. He's only had one good year as a head coach. After a disaster in Houston. I'd pick probably Zimmer and Bowles ahead of obrien.

Just for a laugh..... I've been bored with this guessing of FA and mock drafts. Anyone watch wicked tuna? ? John Harbaugh looks like the captain on Tuna.com boat????? let me know what you think?

He would be ranked higher if his clock management and challenges were better.

Most underrated problem of the 2015 season lmao! i can't tell you how many times I was screaming at the TV watching us get defeated by the clock instead of the other team

Harbaugh is top 5 no matter which way you look at it. I think the players love him and are willing to fight with him on a quest to bring home wins each week. The way the players battled even after the season was in full implosion was impressive and made you feel that there was a huge sense of pride at stake.

Nice to see him get respect. Top tier coach since he's been here and that's not really debatable. Extremely fortunate to have him. Last season, even though his worst record wise, was among his best IMO.

Looking back, he started with no HC experience, rookie QB, coached plenty of stars with big personalities, toughest division, always had us in most games and remained a consistent winner. Many great coaches love to come to here and learn under him. The flaws people complain about, holding coaches too long, doghouse, physicals --- overblown....However his injury reports do sort of piss me off haha

Proud to be among those who have never called for his or Joes head. :)

JH is done with NFL HC jobs, another genius.

This is the dumbest post I've seen in all my years here.

That's a good write-up about Harbs. Even though everything sucked last year, you have to hand it to him for keeping that team together and having them ready to play every single game.

Not according to Kubiak himself.

Harbaugh is, just like our QB, underrated.

Wow.

Just, wow.

So who got us into all the prior playoffs?

No, seriously,  if not Harbs, and Kubs wasn't there . Who got us into the other playoffs.  We will just leave the Super Bowl win out of the conversation.  I am scared you will say Cam got us there.

His profile name happens to be the coach before Harbs who lost all control of his players his last few years as HC.

Enough said.
