[News] Byrne Identity: Joe Flacco's Dedication -- Through Wind And Snow

22 posts in this topic

The AFC North is a league in itself - take last season, for example: the Bengals beat us twice, we beat the steelers twice, the steelers beat the Bengals two out of three times.

Go figure...

I'll be the first to admit that Joe Flacco is not even close to elite in the regular season. In fact, he is average at best. But, come post season, he plays really well and wins us games. He stays on the field despite his recent major injury. If he comes back healthy from his knee (hope for all our sakes he does), then I want no other QB leading the Ravens period. I am totally reconciled and more than comfortable with Joe Flacco and his eliteness or lack thereof.

The fact that Joe is working so hard in rehab is music to my ears. Maybe Joe isn't flashy but his intensive rehab efforts and leading by example speak volumes.

First of all let me say im glad we have Joe Flacco and im glad we have him for the rest of his career. Guys like Skip Bayless are really tiresome,at least we HAVE a quarterback with a Super Bowl to boot. Flacco is not flashy which i think rubs some people the wrong way. But he is a straight arrow who never gets into trouble. Im glad he is a Raven, enough said. Go Ravens!

The past 3 seasons have clearly showed us that Flacco is incapable of carrying this team all on his own. It is imperative that we have a impregnable defense and a whole lot more help on offense for this team to get back to the promised land. So, Ozzie and gang, make it happen. Give this offense weapons so we can be successful. A great O-line, RBs, TEs and WRs is what we really need right now. Otherwise I don't see us getting anywhere.

Joe's biggest rival has been the many changes in coordinators and lack of a true #1 wide receiver. Pitta when healthy is his go to guy, like Bolden was, but there hasn't been a consistent option throughout his career.

I agree with you that Joe can't do it alone. However, it appears that this draft is going to be better for defense. And I think that if the current receiver/TE corps can stay healthy, we might already have enough weapons for Joe, provided the O-line stays stout. Maxx and Crockett could be a great pair; Perriman has a good shot at justifying his draft position, and people like Aiken, Campanaro, Brown, etc. have a chance to show they're worth keeping.

Great to see Joe getting better but why don't we EVER see any rehab updates on Perriman?

Whose 'Perriman?

Look up "elite" in dictionary and Joe's picture is there lol.

I see Brady, Peyton, Rogers, and maybe Brees and maybe soon Cam Newton. An elite qb is goog in all games, not just the playoffs, Bryne. Flacco is definitely above avg for sure though.

Joe Flacco = Elite enough !
If our Defense doesn't give up late game leads every game,
we make the playoffs, and we all know Joe's is definitely
"Playoffs Elite" !

I'm pretty sure that no QB carries a team all on their own !
We would have probably won 5 more games last year with 1 more receiver and 1 ball hawking free safety.

LOL, well none of the players you listed (or any player you could possibly list) is good in all games. They might be better in the regular season and they might be better more frequently than Joe is, but they're certainly not great or even good ALL the time.

Some of the guys you listed were flat out bad the last time you watched them play.

I don't know about that. Peyton is outstanding in the regular season but I don't know if you watched any of his post season performances. He's horrible lol. Rodgers is excellent in the regular season and good in the post season. He's some suspect performances in the post season as well. That goes for Tom Brady as well. So your statement saying it goes for for post season and playoffs is questionable because those players  make elite plays but not always elite performances in the post season compared to their regular season stats. Flacco is good in the regular season but excellent in the post season where it matters the most. You can almost assure yourself if we get their we're a dangerous team to face because of Flacco's ability to turn it on in the post season. Just look at his stats and records. When we played NE when they pulled that trickery and no banned play, we had Brady locked up and Flacco was having yet another awesome game against NE in the post season. People may say I'm bias because I'm a homer but I'm not. Flacco is an elite QB. If he wasn't, no one would be mentioning his name as much as they do about his level of play. You can't say players like Dalton who has one of the best WR in the game, Ryan who has on of the best WR in the game, Romo who has one of the best WR in the game, Eli who has/had one of the best WR in the game elite and not put Flacco in that list to. Other than SSS, what elite WR did we have? But yet Flacco finds a way to win football games with what he has and wins a SB and named SB MVP? It doesn't make sense. Newton didn't play any hard nose defense like the one he has at all last year which is the reason why they lost. They were not prepared for that and wasn't prepared for that during the regular season. He's already being called elite. Stop the madness lol. Flacco can run with the best of them and won. Brady and Peyton.
