Jaylon Smith

8 posts in this topic

With the reported nerve damage in his knee, Jaylon Smith has slipped out of the first round entirely in most mock drafts. But with the strides, if not leaps that our training staff is making with Flacco's knee. And the recent dismissal of Daryl Smith, do you guys think there is a chance Ozzie takes a chance on Smith in the 2nd Round? Even knowing that he will most likely be out for his entire rookie season. We could give Arthur Brown a REAL chance to be the player we drafted him to be. With that being said. Here is my latest mock draft:

1st: Trade down with the LA Rams, for their 1st (15th), 2nd (43rd), and 4th (107th) Round Picks. So they can go draft Carson Wentz before the 49ers.

1st (Rams): Corey Coleman, WR, Baylor, (5-11 194lbs)

2nd: Jaylon Smith, ILB, Notre Dame, (6-3 223lbs)

2nd (Rams): William Jackson III, CB, Houston, (6-0 189lbs)

3rd: Jordan Jenkins, OLB, Georgia, (6-3 259lbs)

4th: Willie Beavers, OT, Western Michigan, (6-4 324lbs)

4th (Rams): Jihad Ward, DE, Illinois, (6-5 297lbs)

4th (Gradkowski): Keyarris Garrett, WR, Tulsa, (6-3 220lbs)

4th (Comp): Morgan Burns, CB/RS, Kansas State, (5-11 195lbs)

5th (Comp): Deon Bush, FS, Miami, (6-0 199lbs)

5th (Comp): Nile Lawrence-Stample, DT, FSU, (6-1 320lbs)

6th: Keith Marshall, RB, Georgia, (5-11 219lbs)

I've heard some reports that he may never play again.  After what happened w/ Perriman last season, there's no

way we pick him in the 2nd round. Our 2nd round pick at 37 will probably be considered a 1st round talent by

some scouts.  I would be surprised if Jaylon Smith is picked before the 4th round.

I wouldnt touch jaylon Smith until its officially considered a flyer, ie 4th round. He may never play again, but I'm more in the camp that he will play and fail. Sad but it happens all the time.

Also, I think he was overrated. He looked like a good prospect, not a great one. He lacked the physicality to play anything but a specialized 43OLB. He could've been a good Blitzer and East West player, bit he can't play downhill at the next level and needs wide open gaps to shoot to make splash plays.

Also, wj3 is likely long gone by that 2nd pick, That's if he even falls to the 2nd

i would go DE with our 1st pick , I would take a WR in the 2nd only cause everything is a project after that.

and would not touch jaylon until the  4th rd , I may get him in the 3rd depending on what DR. has said

I think keith marshall is good and I would love us to get him,

UGA put out really good RB's

We need immediate help and contributions from our first two rounds. I don't think that trade happens.   I'd rather just take Myles Jack and get immediate help from possibly the best player in the draft and take a wr in the second

I think he's going to be drafted with a day 3 flier at the latest, even with a redshirt year he has too much potential. Right now he's walking and nerves do heal/grow back slowly but it depends on how extensive the damage is.
