[News] Terrell Suggs Arrested For Suspended License

42 posts in this topic

Well the situation seemed a lot worse when first hearing about it... Doesn't sound too bad. A mistake but it can be fixed and should not affect him playing next season. I still think it is hilarious the goon in him comes out even in two words, with his apology "my bad".

Come one Sizzle why you making those big bucks and not paying for the insignificant tickets. I mean I don't like tickets any more than anyone else, but when you can pay them easily why not? Dealing with the after effects is far worse and time consuming than paying the fine. Be the villain on Sundays not on the the roadways.

No major thing in the wide spectra of wrong-doing, it is repairable, now just focusing on the 2016 season, and hoping Terrell's rehab is coming along well ??

License suspension for driving violations varies by State. In Arizona, it is for a total of 8 points in a 12 month period. That could be due to four speeding tickets at 2 points each or one charge of reckless/dangerous driving which carries 8 points with it until you go to the driving course.

What this report and Suggs' statement does not mention is the reason why the police were involved in the first place. It isn't like he was walking down the street and the police arrested him. Only the official statement from his representative contains the detail about the accident.

He apparently was involved in a single car accident and the report I heard is that he was initially picked up for "fleeing the scene of an accident." That last part is enough to land you in some hot water, but it probably didn't help that he was driving on a suspended license; which again is enough to land you in hot water.

It would make sense that he was fleeing the scene because he obviously knew he was driving when he shouldn't have been...and then there is the speculation of why he was in a single car accident. Was he speeding again? Was he under the influence of something?

I just don't understand how people with the means to avoid these situations put themselves in these situations.

Fundamentally not a big deal, but just another little tick mark in the arrest column for all those who want to criticize our franchise as being a bunch of criminals.

I am sure TMZ is frantically trying to get the dash cam footage from the police cruiser so they can play it over and over with background noise of screaming goats from the internet. This is a small thing. GO RAVENS!

Seriously! Why not pay the tickets? Better yet, why not hire a driver or take a cab?

Wow Lol, I suddenly don't feel alone! My license was suspended some months ago and I got pulled over on the highway. Note: I kind of didn't know it was suspended (wink wink). The cops didn't arrest me, they actually let me go with a few "must appear" tickets. On the very next day I went to the MVA, paid the tickets and got my license straight. It just shocks me that with all the supposedly big money Suggs has, he didn't pay his tickets. Or maybe he's just a rebel like me and refuses to cough up money for tickets. Either way the law will always win.

His problem sounds like unpaid, don't know how many or how long before that triggers suspension. Either way, dumb way for a millionaire to lose his driving privileges.

Who cares what others think. That being said the media will have a field day.

You got that right my friend. Any little thing to pin on the Ravens.

Its most likely is not a matter of paying the tickets, more probable that he accumulated too many points for speeding within a time period, (rapid point violation) which automatically triggers a suspension. I had something similar happen with speeding tickets where even though I didn't have to go to court for the tickets, (I could prepay through the mail), that I got pulled over on the 20th of Jan for faulty light, but got arrested for driving on suspension. Turns out that on the 18th, the DMV had suspended my license for a rapid point violation of the last ticket, and the court date was a week prior to them issuing the DMV issueing the suspension. They sent out a notice that I didn't actually get until the 23rd, notifying me of my suspension. Easily cleared up, (other than the suspension part), but it was still a pita, car got towed and impounded, had to go to jail and someone had to come bail me out, ect. He might not have even known and might not have been at fault for the accident, could have gotten rear ended at a light and when police arrived...bam. Stuff happens, but when your a star athlete or movie star everything is always blown out of proportion.

Not that big of a deal to me.... There are far worst things that could have happened, but Sizzle needs to be smarter than that... At least he didn't kill 3 guys.

That's what I'm thinking too.. he paid the fines, but his license was suspended because of too many speeding tickets.  As for the "single car accident".. wouldn't that be the car he was driving and no other vehicle was involved?

No alcohol, no drugs, just bad driving habits. As someone said, next time Uber or business truck limo.

All this does is delay his possibility of entering the Hall of Fame.  He will definitely, not be a first ballot HOF'er if he is even considered now.

HOF? Yes, the voters are not supposed to look at the off-field life, but how do you overlook a woman beating, speeding deadbeat. Just because he is a good football player does not excuse his obligations to be a man and an honorable person in society.

How do you fail to pay the tickets when you earn millions?

By being inattentive or not taking it seriously.
