Both Canty and Smith are bad releases in my view. I don't think the defense has viable leadership left after these two leave. Suggs is the unquestioned leader but you do need position group leaders. Canty and Smith will be missed and hopefully we won't lament their releases down the road. My fear is I don't want to get back that feeling we had after Boldin was traded...

This could be a sign that the Ravens have their eye on a LB as the #1 or #2 the draft is deep and IF KO signs they would be ready with the cash. Its an interesting move that they let both Canty and Smith go, I expected one or the other but not both, at least not until the June 1 deadline.
