I want to see details. 6M this year and 13 over the next two isn't that much UNLESS they worked it so that the Ravens are not hamstrung in the following years like they were this year and next year under the previous contact. If they did that, then that would be great so they aren't stuck in having to rework again in three years.

That's pretty much precisely what happened. They're flattening out the cap hits.

I've been telling people for weeks if not months not to expect a $10-15M reduction in cap space in 2016 from the extension. If they were smart (and they certainly appear to be), they'd lower his cap hit this year to $20-22M. That looks like that's what they did.

The days of him playing with cap hits in the $10-15M range are long, long, long gone. Every single cap hit he has for the next 5-6 years is going to have a 2 in front of it.

If Joe's extension allows us to keep KO, that would be amazing.  If Oz and company somehow pull off a miracle and

draft Ramsey, I would have to say this would be the best off-season ever.

As uplifted as this news is (mostly because we have it finished before FA) it will be deflating if KO walks and we have Hurst at LG and Monroe at LT this season.
