Who Are Your Boys?

Jim Leonard was an instinctive player for us who always played full speed, so as far as little known Ravens go he's probably my all time favorite. As for as current players of, I'm a big fan of John Urschel and i think eventually Darren Waller will be a big time players in the league once his techniques are refined.

Ah, another under-appreciated guy. Had he not broken his leg in 2006, we would have had a better shot in the playoffs. The offense stunk it up in that game and our ST was only average. A bad combo in a low-scoring game.

Lesser known guys: ovie mughelli, Lorenzo neal, Corey ivy, Kelley Washington, Jason Brown.

My favorite raven and the most underrated player ever... Derrick mason. I don't see any player changing that. I'll never forget the soundfx when we played the 07 patriots, he was catching first downs left and right and he caught one right in bills face and started running his mouth, Bill was so mad he was caught on camera saying all kinds of F bombs and telling him to shut up in the most profanity laced way. Classic

Good pick.  I think it was him who ran down Adrian Peterson back in 09.

One that I really pulled for and tried to defend when he was on the team was Kyle Boller...knowing that he didn't have 'IT'...whatever it is. Dude was a great dancer I imagine 'cause his feet never would stop moving...I think he was scared in the pocket. Really hoped he would develop...

Too many guys to list or remember through the years.

man i hate seeing boller getting hammered so badly by the fans. billick gave us ridiculous expectations, he didnt have the mental capacity to playin the nfl, but that man had heart, he took a horrific beating for years and never blinked and never gave up.

But he could throw a ball 80 yards while on his knees!

I had a soft spot for Tony Banks as his sister in law was my boss at the time when he played here. Also became and remain good friends with his brother. Nice folks.

I am a Boller fan and I am not ashamed to admit it.

Pollard was a favorite instantly.  Had a custom Jersey made after something like game 4 of his with us.

I liked Boller to. Ozzie drafted a QB round 1 and surrounded him with total and utter trash on offense including an incompetent coordinator!! He threw for 10 tds and 6 ints the last 8 games of 2004 with Clarence " t Rex arms" Moore as his #1 receiver and a no name running back. Ogden playing hurt and Heap missing games. He went on to have 300 yard games as a back up on bad teams with at least average weapons. Not bad for not having many reps in practice playing with a loding team.  Everybody thst ever mentioned it that is being payed by the NFL or division1 school with one exception believes the ravens front office ruined Kyle Bollers career. Chris Redman played pretty well as a backup for the falcons as well where he played in a good system and was surrounded by some talent on offense. If I remember correctly his QB rating and completion % was actually a little higher than Matt  Ryan's in the games Chris played while Matt was injured.

As for underrated players or role players. I'm not a fan of average players really. However obviously I do like Kyler Boller and Chris Redman and my opinion those QBs could of been good on better offenses. Great players that do not get discussed I like are Michael McCrary and Peter Boulware. I talked to him countless times as his favorite federal Hill restaurant/pub is next to my house.  My opinion he and Boulware are the best edge rushers that ever played for the ravens. More explosive than Suggs and Dumervil. But  were held back with knee problems. Defense needs more McCrarys and Boulwares. As for lesser known players I liked were Lionel Daulton and James Trapp!! Jason Brown is a very strong and underrated center like Urschel.

I like this topic, although, having started to watch football just one year ago (the Steelers Wild Card, to be precise), I don't know as much as you guys. And you probably won't believe me, but my guy during training camp was Aiken. I remember when all we were talking about on the french forum was the WR competition, my friend was rooting for Butler while I liked Aiken. But now it's late to still call him my boy.

My guys right now are Zach Orr, because he just makes great plays and still flies under the radar, Za'Darius because he proved me wrong and he's a deserving guy, and Buck, who I also liked from the beginning of training camp.

I always liked Josh Bynes, even more after his victory tackle in the Super Bowl.

But the guy I really liked even if he wasn't the best is Michael Oher. What a great dude he is.

IDK why but I have always been a huge fan of Jeremy Butler. I also loved Tyrod, Jim Leonhard, and Zach Orr. RN these "boys" would be Shareece Wright, Zdarius Smith, and still Jeremy Butler.
