I think he may very well go to Dallas. As another member said, he takes pressure off of Romo, he can catch the ball like anyone's business, can carry the load if Romo goes down to make it easier on the back-up QB they get/have, and it would take pressure off of a rookie QB eventually. Furthermore, he can also pass protect. It's a major win for them.

I don't think he is there. I keep hearing rumors he will go to Jacksonville and I think those rumors are very solidified. It makes too much sense and I can't see JAX passing on him.

So you would not be against drafting him if we traded out the top 10? or if we picked him up at 6 if available

WalterFootball's latest mock draft has us taking Buckner at 6 and Mackensie Alexander with our second pick.

I'd crap bricks

Any situation that lands Alexander in the 2nd would be amazing. A stud in the first round and fully addressed the secondary in the 2nd.

So, I just found this interesting, but Sarah Ellison, the writer for here, thinks VH3 is a reach at 6.

No idea how much she knows about the draft or how to scout, but she thinks it's too early nonetheless

Myles Jack apparently measured at 40" in vertical at UCLA pro day. Even if UCLA trainers added couple inches, that's pretty impressive for a guy who isn't fully healthy yet.

The kid is a freak he doesn't even need to run the 40 or do more testing, that vert is with no medical clearance until a week ago week ago

He's not my favorite pick but I could understand it if we selected him.

I think we're less likely to pick VH3 at #6 because either Alexander/Fuller/Apple/Jackson III is going to fall to us in the 2nd. Right now Bosa/Jack/Buckner/Stanley seems like the most probable pick.

There possibly might be more value on the board but it's not a "reach" imo. VH3 was a guy who was generally regarded as the best pure CB in the nation this year and didn't lose some steam until he had a few meh games towards the end of the season. Still looked great at the combine, silky smooth in and out of his transitions and his ball skills are some of the best I've ever seen on a CB, he caught the ball better than a lot of WR's. To me there is a clear difference between VH3/Ramsey and the next tier of CB's, so for that I would have no problem taking him at 6. The only problem is it's a deep position early in the draft so there might be more value at other positions. Like I said in my previous post, I think we're eyeing CB with our 2nd round pick.

Things are gonna turn out grand. The holes have been whittled down to just a few. I think its in our best interest to address pass rush round one, seeing as true pass rush talent never slides far and the CB crop is pretty impressive this year. We get lucky and land Apple, Artie Burns, or Will Jackson in round 2 or go o line there and maybe grab Cyrus Jones or Kendall Fuller in round 3.. Things look bright for us come April 28th.

I wonder what this forum would do if we end up picking Ronnie Stanley.

It would not shock me in the slightest bit because outside of running back, it'd make everything on the offense good to well above average.

Neither would I be surprised. Shoot, I wouldn't be surprised if we threw everyone a real curveball and took Conklin. Then again, I'm especially high on him compared to others.

I wouldn't take Conklin that high. I still think Decker would be a great fit because he has impeccable footwork.

Yeah, I know. I'd love him in a trade back. I've heard that Conklin is being talked about going top 12, though, fwiw. I like Decker, but not as much as Conklin.

Yeah I think Conklin would be able to shift inside to Guard as well if we wanted him to.

Would not be against Stanley being picked as it is a need but I think there will be better players available

Stanley reminds me of Eric Fischer, he has huge athletic potential for mirroring speed rushers and second level blocks but he's going to need a lot of coaching. Conklin is slower to the second level and to the edge but he has better balance, anchor and leg drive, he also played in a pro style scheme so he doesn't have to be taught from scratch.

They would not like it because it's not a sexy position. I for one wouldn't mind another top LT like an Ogden, it would work WONDERS for Joe

People are going to hate on it no matter what but if we pass up Bosa/Jack/Buckner for him this place is going to explode. I don't think we're going to take him though, it feels like the plan is to ride things out with Monroe and take a Tackle in the 3rd-4th as an insurance policy and possibly add a FA there as well.

Let's play devil's advocate though and say Cleveland trades for Kap and doesn't go QB:

1. Titans - Tunsil

2. Browns - Ramsey or Bosa

3. Chargers - Ramsey or Bosa

4. Cowboys - Jack

5. Jaguars - Buckner

What do we do if this happens? Do we trade out? Take Stanley or VH3?

I think the answer to that question is in the poll at the top of the page ;)

I don't want Buckner at 6, personally.

It's not the sexiest pick but I look at Malik Jackson getting that 85M dollar contract and have to think to myself that a dominate 3-4 DE still carries a lot of value in today's NFL.. From what I've  watched of Buckner is the real deal. Are you not a fan of Buckner or don't think his position carries enough value to go that high?

For what it's worth Mayock said:   "Buckner is one of the guys we'll be looking back at that will be in the conversation as the best defensive player to come out of this draft"

Agreed. I still love Buckner and would gladly take him over Stanley and VH3, only thing that made me cool on Buckner a little was his agility drills, but he is still a top 5 player of mine, if Cleveland doesn't take a QB and the big 5 are gone I'm gonna be disappointed, because I still can't buy into Stanley it's not the position, just not a huge fan of his.

It's not that I hate Buckner; I'd just be bummed and I think that one of those guys above make it and I'd trade up to make sure one does. I think Bosa makes it, personally. Just a gut feeling that Bosa falls to us.

I love how the middle of our defense would look with Jack, Mosley, and Weddle, that's for sure.

That  would be sweet

I can't say I'd be bummed if we selected Buckner as he is one of my favorite players in the draft.  That being said, I think you may be right that bosa may fall to us.
