[News] Eisenberg: Ravens Have More Competition At Running Back Than Ever

21 posts in this topic

Man would I love for the Raven to pick up a 3 down back that punishes defenses late in the game. We have not had one in Baltimore since Jamal Lewis. Would be great to have another Jamal 2.0

I agree. Been missing it for a long time now.

I think part of the Ravens short yardage and goal line struggle is not necessarily the RB but not having a bruising lead blocker like Leach, Gash, or O'Neal like in years past. Juice is good catching out of the back field, but he's doesn't clear the path when defenses knows a run is coming.

Need the consistency that Ray Rice gave them his first few years, before he put on weight.

Ray Rice never punished anybody not like Jamal Lewis or Priest Holmes. Derrick Henry is that kind of guy that wears them down. He is a load plus he's quick.

The biggest problem running the ball is because of the o line, however they started playing better toward the end of the season which if KO stays is why I don't think they should get Ronnie Stanley with the first pick.

I'd much rather that they go defense. Bosa or Buckner.

Watching Henry run the 40 made me want us to draft him. No one will want to tackle that man once he gets downhill. I almost wish RB was a need so we could justify a 2nd Round pick on him.

OK. But, I’ve a strong feeling that Elliott will be ranked pretty high on our board. If destiny should dictate and the Browns trade for Keapernik and no QB is taken before us, we may end up with the best RB in some time as our #6 pick. It wouldn’t be so bad if we did in the long term. Right now, we would fret and fume, but over time it’ll cement Ozzie’s legacy as a genius.

If he is there in the 2nd we need to draft him. Won't be sorry!

Oh man that really brought back some memories! Remember when 3rd and 3 or less was almost guaranteed? Remember when 1st and goal was a scrum on first, second, third, and fourth downs if needed. Oh and if you stop us at your own two yard line then good luck dealing with our D from your own 2.

We cannot forget we have Juice too. While he is a halfback, his abilities have been evidenced over the past few years. I like the guy and he's versatile and has proved his worth with the running backs on our team. You can put him in front of any of these guys and help to create the holes. Forsett knows it... and does really well with it. Allen and West will too.

We have a mediocre running core and trent richardson would make it worse. Forsett isn't long term and we still need a star no 1 back but with our line any back that has good vision or is at least average will succeed on our team
