If he's the best LT in the draft, why is he going in the fourth round?

Spriggs is having a nice combine so far, but he's far from the best LT in the draft.  He'll do well wherever he lands.  If KO accepts the Ravens deal, Spriggs definitely won't be on the Ravens radar.

whether it is monroe or osemele at left tackle we need a better option than hurst to back them up. i like hurst and he has done a decent job when called upon against lesser talent but i wonder if he could have better success at guard. look for the fo to draft or sign another LT to back up monroe or osemele.

I'm not ready to give up on Monroe yet. He's got the right mentality and work ethic for Bmore, and I think (believe?) that he just got really unlucky with two injuries in a row. He was drafted in 2009 so it's not like he's over the hill.

Now, if we can't keep KO, maybe then think about another guy on the left side. But I'm not convinced it should be how the #6 pick gets spent. I say pass rusher all the way.

Conklin and Decker have first round grades. There is no way they make it to the third. Spriggs has a second round grade and with his impressive numbers at the combine its not likely he will be there in the third either.

If we resign KO, Monroe is gone. Sorry there was a reason Jacksonville traded him to us. If he was so hot they wouldn't have drafted another LT a couple years later. Sorry, just don't see it with Monroe even when he is healthy. He is getting paid like a top 10 LT which he is not. Won't miss him when he goes.

I think that's a little far off. When Monroe was healthy, he actually played really well. Hence the reason why we offered him the contract. It's not like he was awful or mediocre when he played. He was really good. He just can't stay on the field all of a sudden. They gave us Smith and look at what he's doing. Another Jaguar that's highly productive but he hasn't missed a beat. It sucks for Monroe but then again, it could work out in our favor to keep K.O.

even if we sign osemele it would not surprise me if the fo drafted stanley if he was the bpa available at #6 and started him at RT than moved him to LT when osemele misses games.

Bosa IMO will not be a stud player!

Now that it's been reported that K.O would like to get 10M+ a year for a deal, Stanley if available would be our choice at #6. It sucks, but that is the reality. The Ravens front office has obviously soured on Monroe based on Ozzie's remarks at the combine, so what choice do we really have if we can't afford K.O? As for K.O while I don't entirely blame him, to expect top LT money with just 4 games at LT under his belt is mind boggling. How quickly these players forget the opportunity given to them to even make this choice.

I've got the feeling, too, that Buckner and maybe even Spence will have better NFL careers than Bosa.
Dunno why... just feel it.

Bosa is less and less the "sexy" pick. He keeps slowly but steadily sliding on the mocks. A month ago he was a top-2 pick in almost any mock draft, being the top pick in many - now he's more in the 3-6 range, with analysts beginning to wonder whether Buckner has a higher ceiling and thus is more promising as an NFL edge rusher...

Also, Bosa has played in 4-3 all his life, while the Ravens play the 3-4. Yeah, it's not a huge transition... but still, it's something not to forget.

Am I the only one to think Ozzie will pull the trigger on Jaylon Smith if he's available in the 5-6th rounds? Probably having to stash the guy on the IR for his rookie season may very well be worth for such a talent...

5-6th rounds?! He'll be gone late 1st or early 2nd - even without probably playing his rookie year. No chance he sees the 5th or 6th rounds.

By the way, to add to my post - IF Jaylon Smith is there in rounds 5 or 6, I would ABSOLUTELY take him. I think quite a few teams would. And I think they will before we get a chance to.

He definitely still will, if they depart from Monroe they're going to need another OT

No not Stanley. The need is speed on Defense and WR mainly. Pass rush first,DB second.
Bosa,Ramsey.. if available. Tgen Noah Spence, Myles Jack.. someone like that

Also why offer KO if Stanley is the plan? I think that means oz is thinking Defensive gamechanger aswell. Cause you dont pay 2 OGs, KO would be LT

According to my research, the Baltimore Ravens are the worst 32 among salary cap space in the NFL with a total of $6,475,629 and with lack of talent. Even Seattle and New England have about 10 to 20 million more space than us and Seattle signing all those top players and still have $23,287,781 in cap space for this year. I hope they turn this cap space around because l'm disgusted how we manage this cap. :-(

I live in the Notre Dame area and watch their games all the time. In 2013, we drafted KLM in the 6th round and 200th pick overall, knowing that he would have to sit out a year. Teams Will Not do the same with Jaylon Smith, meaning he will not make it to the 5th or 6th rounds. His knee surgery was a success and there was no nerve damage. And this guy is incredible. If you have ever seen him play, you know what I mean. He has great character just like KLM, Ronnie Stanley, Zack Martin down in Dallas and a lot of players out of ND. But Smith is strong, fast, quick, an intelligent reader of plays, great range and good cover skills. If he makes it past the 2nd round, I will be surprised, even with taking his rookie year off.

His medical exam at the combine yesterday revealed knee and ankle nerve issues that will keep him out of 2016 season and could present issues further down the road. See article below:
