Justin, Buck, t. West, Lt, now t-rich. No way we're keeping 5 backs. Wonder who goes.

Right now I'm guessing it's a battle for a spot between T.West and T.Richardson. The looser of that battle probably falls to PS or gets cut.

or LT could just find himself on the IR once again and we keep them all.

Im honestly intrigued by this. He seems like hes cutting out some bad influences and distractions from his life. Went back to 'Bama to get things together like we saw Rolando McClain do. It didnt work out for us other than getting that pick but hes playing well for the Cowboys now.

He's obviously an immensely talented kid, he just wasnt in the right situations. Now that he's getting down to the proper playing weight - maybe he can get some burst back, balance, and agility. Our team is a great environment for him with competition, and a great mentor in Forsett.... if he's going to succeed anywhere - I imagine this is the place he'll be able to do it.

And there's absolute no risk if he doesnt work out... but if he does there's huge upside. Very, very intrigued. Not expecting anything to come of it, just intrigued.

Interesting read on Trent Richardson and his struggles.  It's written by former Ravens reporter, Matt Zenitz, too.

Just read the story.

He's lost weight and sounds extremely motivated.  It sounds like Harbaugh was the point man. Newsome is Tide, so maybe it was his idea.  We need a coup...they need a coup.  Would love to see this develop.

richardson is the most talented of the bunch , so if he really  does get his bama ways back he will be the starter unless we draft elliot.

He has talent and a nose for the endzone, but as mentioned he hasn't take cutback options because he's used to following the designed direction of the play. Maybe in Bama you don't have to find the cutback hole because the oline blasts through everything but in this league he has to figure it out.

you have to run the play as its designed.

not all run plays are designed to have the RB make a cutback.

i suggest you read TheRaven comments to get an understanding on how the o-line blocks and how it correlates to the play design.

Unless you are barry sanders or AP you should always follow the play design rather then free style and try to cut when its not intended to.

This is a very good point.  RBs can't freelance too often as players are designed to actually work.  That said, a RB has to have the vision and quick thinking to hit a huge open hole like the one Richardson badly misses on that widely spread around picture

TBH most of those pictures are very misleading.

looking at his position , that of his o-line and the positioning of the defense , to me it looks like if he tried to improvise and pick the not intended hole he would be dropped for a loss more often then not.

you have to keep in mind that those picture are just a snap shot of that precise moment.

a picture of a second later might show you there is no huge hole at all or an o-liner getting pushed back making it impossible to cut back without risking losing a lot of yards.

Better analogy would be a rundown house we're hoping does something that we got for 10,000 lol

Well Baltimore definitely has enough boarded up vacants, so good analogy.

I just read that Trent Richardson formerly of the Raiders and Colts is now a Raven . What are your opinions about this Raven move? Is he a good fit or since he has been out of football do you think he still has what it takes to be a # 1 starter?

After checking out the Ravens workout video ( a very small sample), 4 things jumped out at me.

1. Perriman is sprinting and looked good doing it.

2. Joe Flacco is doing squats ( maybe light but still amazing considering he'd torn 2 muscles in his knee).

3. Dennis Pitta looked really good pushing off on some weight and running ( non contact but still hip muscles are exerted).

4. Lastly, Trent Richardson looks lean and mean. This may be the year Trent looks like a 3rd overall pick. Just very very optimistic right now.

I've always liked this signing very low risk and high reward. I feel like this is the year he puts it all together and shows out. He's going to be a real asset for the Ravens this year.

Call me a homer but I don't like, I love the signing. Low risk really high reward. T Rich instantly becomes the most talented well rounded back on this roster. With the way Trestman wants to use his RBs in the passing game anyone that wins the starting job will have a huge opportunity to make plays in the pass game.

Just a hunch but I don't think Trestman is a huge fan of Forsett for this offense. The RB position was feature so much more once Forsett went down. Of course Flacco being hurt played a role but even just from the way he used Buck in the passing game to really attack defense was different. Forsett was really just used for check downs and flares, but Buck was really featured. If Richardson is at his best I can see that being a huge area for him and Trestman will love him in space. All Richardson operating in space period just from a spread offense type will be dangerous as well. It all falls on T. Rich to do what he needs and if he does it could be dangerous.
