Injuries To The Ravens

8 posts in this topic

I couldn't find much information online, so I'm assuming until the reports come out this week that we're all in the same boat, wondering about the severity of the injuries suffered in the win against the Titans.

Suggs had a sprained right shoulder and was listed as probable going into the game. With the way he landed on the play I'm pretty sure he just re-sprained that shoulder. Does anyone know how much of a problem that type of an injury can be for a player? What's the recovery time, and how hard would it be to play with the injury?

Leohnard is listed as having a head injury. Did he suffer a concussion? He's been playing so well lately. I'm not sure what his past history is with concussions. Hopefully this is just a minor one, and not anything he'll be prone to re-aggravating.

Rolle has a groin injury. This type of injury can range anywhere from a couple days of uncomfortableness, all the way to being severely limited for weeks, so lets keep our fingers crossed that he didn't pull his groin too intensely....(awkward pause) <_<

I'm not too worried about the likes of McClain, and Washington, since both were able to return to the game. Willie scared me for a bit because he looked so pained, but he returned as well. Any comments about the injuries, feel free to leave them! Lets keep our fingers crossed that we can get our guys back healthy, because we sure will need them to get to the Super Bowl!

A shoulder sprain is no big deal. I played half a rugby season with a sprained shoulder. It is just going to hurt for the rest of the season until he can rest it. It shouldn't keep him out of any games for the rest of the season, though it may cause him to opt out of the pro-bowl.

Don't know about Leonard's condition, but just because he is listed as having a head injury, that does not necessarily mean he has a concussion. It could be anything from a broken nose to a bruise on his forehead.

The groin thing is what really scares me though. If Rolle pulled his groin, he is definitely out for the next game, possibly the season, depending on the severity of the pull.

Fabian Washington has been playing well considering he's filling in for C-Mac, but I always get worried when Frank Walker and Corey Ivy have to fill in for Rolle as well. Washington matches up nicely with Holmes, but Ivy is too small to line-up on Ward. Walker just isn't skilled enough either. That's the thing, Ward isn't as fast as he used to be, and he doesn't run routes as crisply as he used to, but he's super physical, and if he breaks away for key-plays as he tends to, it'll be painful for us.

I think its going to be a problem for Suggs. I know Mason is playing with a similar injury right now but Suggs has to use his shoulder every time he goes to tackle if he's going to really wrap up the ball carrier. Just look at all the tackles Reed wiffs on because he's afraid to put his shoulder into a guy. For a defender, especially a LB, a shoulder injury is huge. Suggs will probably give it a go next week but I dont think we will see much of him.
