My first Mock

33 posts in this topic

1. Titans - Tunsil

2. Cleveland - Jared Goff

3. San Diego - DeForest Buckner

4. Dallas - Jalen Ramsey

5. Jacksonville -  Joey Bosa

6. Baltimore - Myles Jack - Versatile, versatile, versatile.  John Harbaugh will have fun with this guy.  Jack can lineup anywhere you tell him to and be productive, and make plays.  He is probably the best coverage linebacker I have seen coming out of college.  Plus he has amazing speed and strength to be effective in the run game or even rush the passer if you told him to.

2nd - William Jackson III - Has the ball skills and instincts that the Ravens need in the secondary.  Also has great closing speed that puts him into position to make interceptions and break up passes.

3rd - Pharoh Cooper - Not many people are talking about him but he helps bring the play making ability that the offense is missing.  He can make the tough catch in traffic and has the quickness to get open.

4th -  Chris Jones - Can stop the run, rush the quarterback. Still has plenty of potential too.  Was once considered a top prospect but unfortunately he plays lazy and stiff causing him to drop here.

4th - Joe Schobert - Not the best athlete and has been moved all over field.  But the one thing he does not lack is effort and heart.  Has speed and determination which is what the Ravens can never get enough of.

4th (comp) - Joe Dahl - Dahl may go earlier or he may not but Dahl is another successful college LT who could really take advantage of being moved inside into guard.

4th (comp) - Cyrus Jones - The hometown guy and the special teams ace the Ravens have missed last year.  He is not terrible at corner but cannot be left on the outside to cover due to his height.

Love it. Simply love it, maybe what I would have come up with if I had to make a mock right now. Didn't get to watch Cooper, will have to now, I had Shepard as a good 3rd rounder, but it may be too optimistic.

I like Shepard a lot but I have a feeling he slips into 2nd to a team such as Kansas city in need of WR but guys like Coleman, Doctson and Boyd all gone.

Like I already said, KC already has guys like Conley or Maclin that have a style ressembling that of Shepard, they need a tall, red zone target, like a De'Runnya Wilson for example (if Doctson is gone).

I think KC would be more interested in Cooper than Shepard, since they already have smaller, quick WRs. Still, I'd be fairly happy with Cooper in the 3rd. And I'm a big  fan of grabbing Schobert in the fourth. He's the classic overachiever that the Ravens love having on defense.

Not bad at all. I think Myles Jack is starting to creep up alot of boards and we should definitely give him consideration and at least keep him in the conversation.

I agree.  He's definitely the type of player we need in the middle of the defense to keep athletic TE's, slot WR and RB from killing us like they did all year long.  He's definitely worked his way up my board.

The key to having Jack is can Pees actually use him correctly which I have no confidence in Pees to do that I like the mock overall but at the 2nd and 3rd picks I like the players but I usually have seen JAckson and Cooper going in he 3rd and 4th rounds respectively in most mocks/big boards that's really my only issue but I do like the guys you selected especially that 4th round that's solid. I ours still like to get a pass rusher in the 1st or 2nd and then another in the 4th or so because we need serious help there

I am a little concerned with Jack still not being cleared to run 4 months after meniscus surgery makes me think Perriman kind of scary. We need an impact player who actually plays this year. Also can Pees use him to his strengths is my biggest question

Mosley had injury problems coming out of college, that's why he dropped to us. In the end you can't predict that kind of stuff. And I think Pees is more flexible using his LBs than other positions. Anyway, however you want to use Myles Jack, he'll make an impact, so I'm not worried.

I like Jackson more than Apple and fuller by a mile, sue me people! I absolutely love this draft. Jack would set us up nicely by giving us some desperately needed speed on defense which really may be the biggest priority. Then Jackson is a big corner with swagger who is physical and plays the ball as well as any corner in the draft and can hang with big boys and the shifties. I've made my thoughts on schobert well known but I Assisi love Chris Jones and cooper, Jones reminds me of a poor man's cameron Hayward and coopers toughness and savvy and great quickness is impressive and I have to question his 3rd round stock

Yes Mosley had some injuries but were minor not running 4 months after this surgery is concerning unless there was more to this injury than was reported I mean back in the day Jerry Rice was on the field playing after tearing his ACL and MCL Rod Woodson came back from a torn ACL and played in less than 5 months and Jack can't run yet is scary and concerning we don't need a repeat of Perriman. I have seen Jack and he is an absolute monster and could be great but we need a solid starter and I am just very concerned with the amount of time it as Taken for this injury.

I think Jack would be able to thrive even in a very vanilla defense. Just keep him in zone coverage over the middle or let him cover TEs and he'll make plays.

We've been killed by short passes, I'm done being victimized by Barnidge and co... Myles Jack comes in and solve 50% of our coverage problems.

Jack should be healthy by his pro day and the team will get a good idea on how healthy Jack really is.  Plus I think Jack is versatile enough that whatever Pees decides to do with him you cant go wrong.

Love it.   Im glad the myles jack train is catching steam, when I mocked him to us about  a month ago I thought I was going to be the only one.   Very solid mock

In my case I didn't want to hear about an ILB in the first round, but you did push me to watch some of his tape, and I needed 30s to admit I was so wrong.

I was the exact same way.  It took me about 30s to say I was completely wrong.

The first 2 snaps in his film vs vatech disproves all the theories I had about him lol. He plays much tougher than I gave him credit for and he cracks blockers violently in the run game and holds His ground. He still needs to work on lateral pursuit in traffic though, he gives way too much ground moving through blockers instead of busting through like a Mosley does. Still an elite prospect though

He's easily one of the best prospects in this entire draft class.

I agree. I wouldn't be shocked if he is top 3-5 on our board and if available, we're going to take him. After watching some tape on him, I was amazed at why he was somewhat ignored on our board and one of the reasons why I started a thread on him. Having said all of that, I also believe if Jaylon Smith wasn't injured, he would have been pretty coveted too.

I think Smith and Jack top our board after Tunsil, Ramsey, and Bosa.

1. Tunsil

2. Ramsey

3. Bosa

4. Smith

5. Jack

6. Buckner

That's my rankings atm for this team based on player and need. I have Smith higher despite his injury because I think he could work similar to Miller with some time and development, while I see Jack as an excellent, Kuechly-esque LB only smaller.

That's pretty much my top six as well, except for knees.  Buckner could probably be #4 just because his ligaments seem to be intact.  I don't know if we (or San Diego, or Dallas) pass Buckner for an injured Smith.  Even though I like Smith better personally.

I would guess the Raven's board would be like this:
1: Tunsil
2: Bosa
3: Ramsey
4: Buckner
5: Jack
6: Smith

That is exactly how I see it as of now, I am interested if despite his previous issues, whether a solid combine would boost spence up, especially since edge rusher that fit our scheme are so hard to find this year.

I could see him getting ahead of Smith on our board. Though it'd be hard for him to cut ahead of Jack and Buckner.

I agree there. Jack is so impressive that the thought of him with Mosley makes me feel we would be getting back to playing great defensive football real soon and Buckner's ceiling and floor are worth a top 5 pick. I see Spence with a good combine and pro day as the 6 or 7th best player on our board

Hasn't been talked much about, but if we get Chris Jones in the 4th i'm doing a triple backflip. If coached in Baltimore, he would be the biggest steal of the draft, and in 3 years could be the best at his position with Buckner. His ceiling is stratospheric.
