Pre-Combine First Round Mock

2 posts in this topic

I'll add notes for my reasoning the AFC North teams.

Pick 1, Titans: Laremy Tunsil, LT, Ole Miss

Pick 2, Browns: Jared Goff, QB, California

This is simple, they still need a QB and Goff seems the type that would be fit what Hue Jackson wants the offense to be like.

Pick 3, Chargers: Joey Bosa, Edge, Ohio State

Pick 4, Cowboys: Jalen Ramsey, DB, Florida State

Pick 5, Jaguars: Myles Jack, LB, UCLA

Pick 6, Ravens: Deforest Buckner, DE, Oregon

Just seems like an Ozzie type of pick, a defensive cornerstone that you can plug in right away and will be a starter for the next ten years. Kinda like Mosley. Also, him and Jernigan will wreak havoc on passing downs.

Pick 7, 49ers: Carson Wentz, QB, North Dakota State

Pick 8, Dolphins: Vernon Hargreaves III, CB, Florida

Pick 9, Buccaneers: Shaq Lawson, DE, Clemson

Pick 10, Giants: A'Shawn Robinson, DT, Alabama

Pick 11, Bears: Noah Spence, OLB, Eastern Kentucky

Pick 12, Saints: Mackenzie Alexander, CB, Clemson

Pick 13, Eagles: Ronnie Stanley, LT, Notre Dame

Pick 14, Raiders: Jaylon Smith, OLB, Notre Dame

Pick 15, Rams: Paxton Lynch, QB, Memphis

Pick 16, Lions: Laquon Treadwell, Ole Miss

Pick 17, Falcons: Reggie Ragland, MLB, Alabama

Pick 18, Colts: Taylor Decker, OT, Ohio State

Pick 19, Bills: Andrew Billings, DT, Baylor

Pick 20, Jets: Ezekiel Eliot, RB, Ohio State

Pick 21, Redskins: Jarran Reed, DE, Alabama

Pick 22, Texans: Cody Whitehair, OG, Kansas State

Pick 23, Vikings: Jack Conklin, OT, Michigan State

Pick 24, Bengals: Eli Apple, CB, Ohio State

Their DBs are getting old and some of the contracts are running up. DB is an underrated need for them, and Eli Apple matches up well to the taller receivers in the division. As a bonus they get to take one of the better CBs right in front of the Steelers who badly need one.

Pick 25, Steelers: Vonn Bell, S, Ohio State

With the top three CBs gone they go safety instead. Mitchell has been a solid starter but Allen is turning 34 and Shamarko has been under-performing. Bell gives them a rangy safety that can be left on an island.

Pick 26, Seahawks: Ryan Kelly, C, Alabama

Pick 27, Packers: Corey Coleman, WR, Baylor

Pick 28, Chiefs: Michael Thomas, WR, Ohio State

Pick 29, Cardinals: Emmanuel Ogbah, Oklahoma State

Pick 30, Panthers: Kevin Dodd, DE, Clemson

Pick 31, Broncos: Hunter Henry, TE, Arkansas

Looks good to me, I see nothing that looks out of place. could definitely see things panning out in a similar way. I like Spence to the bears, and Smith to the raiders. Also Lawson to the bucs and bell to pittsburgh. All makes sense.
