L.A.Ravens

Joey Bosa or DeForest Buckner at 6.

190 posts in this topic

Probably already topic but curious of all of your opinions. Lately there has been mock drafts with Buckner and Bosa as our picks. I like both of them. I'll be thrilled if we chose either of them. My top 6 not including OT (not at 6) or QB (maybe if some one had the skill of the best QB the Ravens ever had, I'm talking about the one and only Kyle Boller)

1. Ramsey CB/S

2. Jack OLB/ILB

3&4 tie: Buckner and Bosa DE

5&6 tie: VH3 and Noah Spence

ps: I was J/K about Kyle Boller being the best Ravens QB ever.

I like Buckner more but don't see the Ravens passing on Bosa

Me too I feel like the versatility of Buckner would be insane for our D but Bosa has some major power, offensive lineman would have to double team either Bosa or Williams. I can say the same about Buckner too tho. Lol see, I'm so torn about which one would fits best for the Ravens organization. Who ever Ozzie chooses I believe it's the best pick for our team.

It's tough because one is a more dominant fixture at 34DE while the other would probably be a mover and a guy who would need a lot of coaching and scheming. Both are dominant against the run, bosa can bring better edge rush and disruption, buckner brings a more dominant presence on the interior. Both shut down their side of the field against the run, both being a ferocious bull rush, both can rush the tackles outside shoulder and can take interior gaps consistently, both are very scheme diverse as they both play multiple positions in multiple fronts..

Honestly I think it would come down to the bigger need. Picture bosa at OLB against the run and at 3Tech/5Tech in the pass rush, then picture buckner at 3Tech against the run and 0/1Tech in the pass rush.. I think bosa would get the nod there. I have no preference Honestly but I might prefer Spence by a hair just because we so desperately lack explosion up front

Buckner is going to have a huge combine and force somebody to pick him in front of us. He has the highest ceiling of anybody in this draft. Could see this guy having a JJ Watt type impact. He is the guy who pushes a Bosa or Ramsey to us. With that said, I am obviously a huge Buckner guy and hope he has just a great combine so he is there for us at 6. Letting him, Jernigan and Williams loose on the quarterback makes me giddy thinking about.

Bosa is a monster. He's a rare prospect and fits a huge need for the Ravens. I have zero concerns about his ability to play OLB in our scheme. It's a silly reason not to draft an elite player like him if he were to fall.

Buckner is a fine back-up plan at #6 if the likes of Jack, Ramsey, Tunsil and Bosa are all gone. Those are the 4 blue chip prospects in this class imo.

Haven't paid much attention to Buckner. Is he a run stuffer or a pass rusher? Or even a hybrid?

Hybrid I would say, he's great against the run and getting at the QB. He had 10.5 sacks in 2015 only.

Excels at both

Bosa and there's not much question here for me.  We're talking about a potentially elite edge rusher right now.  I like Buckner a lot, but Bosa is above him for me.

By the time the combine is finished and we near the actual draft, we'll strangely find out that we have little chance at selecting Buckner and little motivation at selecting Bosa.

I will agree 1000 times with you.

First, the fit at OLB is a dumb question. ZDS was projected as a 4-3 end and nothing else, yet he had one of the best season for a rookie Edge Rusher last year.

And I also totally agree for the 4 blue chips thing, and Buckner being a fine Back Up plan.

Personnally, I would prefer Bosa, because of the differences in need. They have similar talents, but selecting Buckner would waste the talents we have with Guy, Urban or even ZDS who will eventually play some snaps as an interior rusher.

Behind Tunsil I think you are right, his ceiling is very high and so is his floor.

We should be thrilled and fortunate if either one is available

I keep viewing Buckner as the ace in the hole, but the worst possible scenario is the draft going Tunsil, Goff, Bosa, Ramsey, Buckner, then we have the option to pull the trigger on Hargreaves or Spence. I just pray one of those guys falls, besides Goff or Wentz lol, we need a QB frenzy

Bucker, bosa, Ramsey.. They can't all be taken can they!?!?

Very likely mock

tenn- Tunsil , Cleveland- goff or Wentz, SD- Bosa, Dallas- Ramsey, Jags- Buckner,.....which leaves us as odd team out. I'd take the gamble and move back  and get a second rounder and hope VH3 or Spence is there.

Coaching and scheming Buckner is out Pees does the same thing over and over whether it works or not. Lets not let Pees ruin this pick go Bosa or Spence keep it simple

Myles Jack is probably competing for one of those spots as well, which would be six.

Hopefully other factors weigh more than combine stats like game tape and watching Bosa constantly beating double teams. Suggs.

I'd probally take Bosa since he has the ability to play OLB and has a more proven track record
