It seems more and more likely the ravens will trade back and stock picks. Looking at the middle rounds. The real talent value will be in rounds 2-4 so busting our brains for a blue chipper when we can get solid players + depth, I would rather pick at #12-15 after a trade or two than pick at #6.

Why? They have 10 picks already and a roster full of middle round spares.

They are at 6 for very good reasons. Make the most of it and get your guy.

Ramsey will be there when the Ravens pick. Know how many S/CB have went in the Top 5 in the last 10 years? 2 - Patrick Peterson & Eric Berry. Ramsey is neither of those guys.

Every year it's the same thing - WR,CB,RB all mocked into the Top 10. But in reality, it's DE, OT, QB & OLB that end up being picked. The NFL is a copycat league and the entire world saw what Denver's pass rush did last year. Guys like Stanley, Buckner, Spence, A'Shawn & Rankins will all move up the draft boards.

i say if we grab a CB or WR in rounds 1 and 2 we will be very beneficial...in the long run if we restructure Joe and resign KO along with lets say signing treadwell in rd 1 or coleman if we trade back in the 1st...that will sew up our offense for a good 3 years. having solid WRs with depth at RB and our oline being solid...that will give us 9 other picks for defense which our defense played good last year minus or secondary...so grabbing a CB in the 1st or 2nd to line up and a safety in rounds 3 or 4. we should be back in the playoff hunt. i get picking a DE to fill in for suggs but our guys played fine last year without him and it would give us another year to look at the guys we already drafted to fill in for suggs...especially if bosa isnt coming into the NFL with the same fire as suggs.

It all will change at the combine. All it will take is for Clemson's Lawson to show 4.5 speed and the rankings will jumble., Expect 4 or 5 surprises and disappointments, all having the "best" players batch, all jumbled up.

There's obviously a lot of talent that will be available at #6, the bigger question is which talented player will be snatched up. As usual I think you would have an easier time correctly guessing the Powerball numbers than figuring out this early what Ozzie an them will do. But it is looking more likely that we will pick someone, which regardless of who that is they should improve our team significantly. I think we are in a very good position right now.

It would only seem "more and more likely" if another team would seem more and more likely to want to trade up for our spot. That would be the case if the 49ers who pick after us would be projected to pick a specific position - mostly QB. And, since Chip Kelly's arrival was widely regarded as one more chance for Kaepernick, the 49ers aren't expected to spend their top pick on a QB. Maybe, if we are on the clock, and there are intriguing players still on the board, we'll get an enticing trade offer - but to say it seems more and more likely NOW... I guess it's too early for that.

I just don't see the Cowboys using their 5th pick on a QB.

And neither do most Cowboys-fans. (BTW, the Cowboys pick at #4.)

1st Round:. We should be BPA: Jalen Ramsey is a playmaking safety, but he is not an NFL corner. Hargraves is exactly what we need at the CB position. His ability to tackle, cover, and relentless style of play is going to make him one of the better CB's in this league. He literally never quits on the play. Watch his film against Alabama. He also matched up with the best player he faced for the last 3 years.
1. Laremy Tunsil OT
2. Joey Bosa DE
3. Jaylon Smith ILB/OLB
4. Miles Jack ILB
5. Vernon Hargraves CB
6. Jalen Ramsey S

There is plenty of value in the second round at DE/OLB. I wonder if that causes us to take a CB or ILB at No. 6. If we take a WR, I have lost all faith in this team.

I just can't see Stanley being our pick. I mean, you're going to take the second best OT with the #6? If it's not Tunsil then forget it. Everyone here is assuming if you take a LT here, he's Jon Ogden. That draft is history folks.........you're not getting Jon Ogden here. That said, I wouldn't be opposed to a LT if our offensive line was in shambles. It's not, our OL is in a lot better shape than our secondary and receivers which sucked last year (not counting S Smith who's in his last year). So take the best available player as we always do, (Ramsey, Buckner, whoever) but I can't see that being Stanley who's not even the best at his position coming out.

bosa is going to run a slow time alright. he is projected to run in the 4.8 range. what worries me about him is that he isn't very explosive unlike suggs.

JJ Watt ran a 4.84 40. Suggs ran a 4.84 also. He is just fine. Bosa is like a hybrid between Suggs and Watt, and will bring much needed chaos to our defense.

Stanley would be the #1 OT in any other draft (He would have been last year). Just because he's not the "best" player at his position doesn't mean a thing. Odell Beckham was the "3rd Best" WR coming out of that draft. Marcus Peters was the "3rd best" CB last year. CJ Mosley was the "2nd ILB" taken as well.

I sure hope Shaq is slow at the combine! I SO want him to fall to us in the 2nd!!

Any draft with us taking Stanley makes me :(

Up until now, Stanley was the player most often mocked to us. I did not agree, as it has been my opinion that we'll be going defense with that first pick. But the statement out now that we're aggressively pursuing KO to be our LT is telling on what our thoughts are on Monroe. In that regard, perhaps the analysts doing some of these mocks were on to something.

If we fail to come to terms with KO and he goes elsewhere for a bigger pay day, I think Stanley is firmly in play and the odds of us taking him have increased in my mind.

i agree with JOE MEOLI,MYLES JACK is the best bang for the buck pick and the best athlete and great in coverage, quick to the ball wherever that may be.don't get me wrong if RAMSEY'S there, grab him and run,BUCKNER'S also a taylored made pick,i'll be happy with any of them.it's great to be in our position, this year.

As much as I hate piling on an old post, I must add that there is little to no chance of Ramsey being there at number 6.  Some polls have him going number one or two.  The Browns might take a QB at number two but certainly the other teams would grab him and Jack if either is there when they pick ahead of the Ravens.  It might come down to Buckner, Bosa, Hargreaves, Stanley or Elliott.  I was sold on Bosa for a long time now, but I would be just as happy if we took Buckner.  Other guys to seriously consider would be Hargreaves, Stanley and Elliott.  Hargreaves is the runner-up choice to taking Ramsey, who would require us to trade up to the number 2 slot to get.  We need a LT badly, but to pick up a guy like Elliott would change the whole dynamic of our offense and open up the vertical game because teams would need to stack the box to defend against the long run.  Elliott looks like he will slip past the Cowboys now that they signed Morris for 2 years.
