I can't see us using the tag on K.O. He would be way too expensive.

IMHO, it makes total sense to franchise Tucker. He seemed to drop off just a little this year. Why not tag him and see what kind of year he has this next season?

Technically, we have two players who we can franchise tag.  Realistically, it's only gonna be one and that's Tucker.

How about kicks when the game was on the line? Sign him to a long term deal and tag KO if we can't sign him to a deal.

I think we already have KO's replacement on the team with Urshel. Ozzie knows he cant afford to waist money and let Monroe go. Also we cant overreact to his injuries. I think he will be back full strength. We will probably draft a tackle or two in this draft that can learn behind Monroe and Wagner and still bring back 805 of a line that two years ago was one of the best in the NFL. I think we will not need to franchise Tuck. Ozzie and Harbs know the value of a good special teams unit. I think we lock tucker up for 4 to 5 years on a contract that's good for both sides. With us playing out doors in the elements against a tough division, and factoring the further extra points. He is not going anywhere.

I think we tag Tucker this year. As much as I love him and want him here, he didn't perform very well this year. I don't think he deserves to be the highest paid kicker in the league, but deserves top 5 money for sure. He needs to sign a reasonable contract for 18-19M over 5 yrs.

Tagging KO is out of the question. Price is far too prohibitive and he probably is only worth about half the tag amount.

For the franchise tag?

Because the tag is worth probably three times what he is worth.

You think Monroe will be back at full strength based on what, exactly? The 32 regular season games he has missed the past 4 years? Or is it the 1 full season he's played in his 8 year career?

Tucker would be a solid, cost-effective tag, but I have faith that we will be able to reach a long-term deal before it comes to that.

I agree that Tucker is the only viable tag possibility. No other free agent is worth anywhere near the tag cost. I also hope we can sign Tucker w/out having to use the tag.

Definitely hope Tucker gets offered and signs a fair deal versus playing hard ball causing us to tag him and potentially lose him next year. Every player says they want to stay and or hope something gets worked out but time will tell if Tucker wants to max out his first major contract or get a (hopefully) fair deal and keep the wolf pack together

Monroe will be back because of the dead money hit we would take if he were to go. So, keeping Osemele becomes problematic - will be too much to tag, and he'll probably be offered more elsewhere. Tucker would be the easiest to tag, due to kickers' lower salary hit as a group. Would love to keep Osemele too, we'll have to see....

my feelings about jimmy smith is not the same, I think hes not very good at all, always get beat on the deep ball, he plays off the receivers way too much, I would trade him.
