My bad, That 4 mil was for the 4 guys on that line combined not a.brown alone.

I totally forgot that K.aiken will count 2-3mil if we keep him.

Im not advocating letting go of mallet but it's just an option as his contract is not guaranteed.

I was also hoping we give Tucker an extension vs the Tag because it would reduce his cap hit to a lil above 2 mil this year vs 4.5

I only assumed so many guys are gone because we already have 56 guys under contract for next year. If we keep 4 of our free agents we have 60 and draft picks. I mean how are we gonna even keep them all?

Well, we will definitely cut players, but a lot of the players getting cut are being replaced by guys with similar cap hits, so the net cap space gained is zero.

Only the top 51 players count against the salary cap. So if you cut a guy who costs $1M against the cap, the 52nd highest cap number now moves up into the top 51, thus counting against the cap. If that 52nd player has a cap hit of say $300-400K, then you really only gain $600-700K in cap space, as opposed to $1M from cutting the player.

That's why when you start talking about cutting guys who have cap hits of like $1-2M or less, you're not really talking significant savings.

Ravens are limited in FA. My dream scenario would be to trade with Cowboys who can wait to get a Myles Jack, QB,WR and leap frog Jags to get Bosa or Ramsey. If not, I think they can move back a couple of spots (#8-9) and still get a guy like OLB Spence, CB VH3, CB Alexander, and have an extra pick to pick a Wr in the later rounds. If Ravens don't renegotiate with Flacco, then I expect some vets like Webb, Canty, D. Smith, Arrington, Lewis to be gone to clear CAP space.
