Thoughts on Shawn Oakman? He's really gone under the radar in the draft process so far. Physically he's very intriguing to me.

A yard too late, like Mike Mamula

I think Myles Jack & Noah Spence would be a lot of fun to watch.

Realistically, if I were the one drafting, I would be hoping for Ramsey but would be happy with Buckner and Boyd

Still it is:

Deforest Buckner

Jason Spriggs

This is one of the most realistict one.

My dream scenario (who is 99 impossible to happen) is

- Ramsey/Spriggs after they signed a CB in the Free Agents (Sean Smith, Amukamara or Janoris Jenkis)

In light of the statement Hortiz made about game film being paramount in our selection of players here is a question.

Tape watchers: Start your engines! (No just kidding).

Which of the top prospects has the best game on film regardless of scheme or fit or combine performance? Can you name the top 10 please? I am really curious to find out at this point.

Ramsey and Jack has stood out the most to me. There is a youtube video that was posted a month ago showing Jack's highlights and I think it shows it better than the older one. I also think Bosa stands out being able to outpower offensive linemen...

Tunsil

Jack

Bosa

Hargreaves

Zeke

Buckner

Floyd(sounds strange but his tape is really impressive)

Treadwell

Shaq

Billings

Off the top of my head, but these guys had really strong film without combine numbers or size concerns or anything like that.

My top 10 would look like this :

1- Ramsey

2- Myles Jack

3- Tunsil

4- Bosa

5- Buckner

6- Elliot

7- Hargreaves

8- Wentz

9- Stanley (based on tape... but he will fall a bit after his cone drill)

10- Goff (based on tape Goff is higher. he looks great on tape. he's not that accurate under pressure and I don,t like that. Smaller hands and body not that strong of a passer so a team playing in a dome is a better fit)

I took Jaylon Smith out but based on tape he's top 10 thats for sure. Poor guy

So am I the only one who thought jaylon was overrated? He's more of highlights guy than a tape guy for me. He looks scared to engage imo. He gets caught way too often circling around traffic and letting guys get upfield on him. That's a db style of pursuit, not something I want from my ILB. Jack may not be the best in Traffic but he definitely shows the willingness and he wins a fair amount of those head up battles with blockers.

yeah he gets engaged for too long in blocks sometimes but I don't know like you said he looks like a highlight type of player but he looks good. He played pretty good vs good team so I liked that. As for Floyd, he loos very very good on tape but I tampered my expectations because of his weight and frame. I think he won't be able to do what he does in the NFL right away. He will need some times to adjust and put up some weight

I agree about Floyd but the question was based purely on tape and he has some of the best tape in the draft, his explosiveness and motor I think are by far the best in the draft and he played very well in all 3 phases of defense, he also shows instincts of a top 5 defender and you can tell he is a very high iq player, but like you said the size is a cause for concern at the next level

I'll dare to say Kevin Dodd's tape was among the best I've seen from any rusher this year. All he does is disrupt, and you can tell he affects the game on almost every play. High motor, high IQ, very quick and explosive and good bend and technique.

I'd say Jack is the most impressive in regards to "wow I can't believe he just did that" moments. On the other hand, Tunsil's isn't the most exciting, but I think it's the closest to flawless I've ever seen.

I totally agree wth you I was never a huge fan of smith at ILB other than an above average cover man.  I would always much rather have Jack because he just goes out and plays every snap.

Glad to see someone else watched Ramsey's tape. His will be drafted perhaps number one overall because of his traits, size and exceptional athleticism. His tape from last year does not merit being picked top five.

buckner is consistently good. Jack is great. Darian Thompson is impressive on game film.

I'll be honest I didn't mean to leave Ramsey off. That was a blunder. I should have him slotted after hargreaves by a slim margin. Vh3 looks so much more consistent and reliable while Ramsey shows a lot of "near" plays where he fails to make the play by just a hair. He does shows great aggression and press coverage though

He's aggressive in press. Agreed. He shows little interest  in tackling and in that sense the,"physical" descriptive falls apart for me.

I think in the first three rounds, it'd be best for us to get a linebacker or edge rusher, a corner, and a wide receiver, assuming we're able to fix our LT situation in free agency.  Obviously, Ramsey would be ideal in the first round, but I don't see that happening.  I do think Myles Jack would be available, and he's got a ton of potential.  Second round, it's a tad of a reach possibly, but I think William Jackson out of Houston would do well.  If Eli Apple's still there, I'd take him instead, though.  Third round, if Sterling Shepard out of Oklahoma or Rashard Higgins out of Colorado St is available, take one of those two to fill out the receivers corps.

It's pretty hard for LT play to be "exciting"

It depends.  Greg Robinson (boy, was I wrong on him) was fun to watch just because he'd maul over guys and get to the next level.  I think Tunsil is a case of him not sticking out in that regard because everything is just so efficient.  He can do just about everything, but when I watch him, I'm thinking to myself "yep, that's what I expected from Tunsil" no matter how impressive it truly is.  It all looks so natural.

Yeah, the best are the ones that just make it look so easy

I never saw him as a fit here, he's good if you can keep him clean. He actually reminds me of a more athletic Ogletree (who is plenty athletic)

I was really high on Robinson. Of all the recent busts at tackle he was the only one I thought was worth the hype lol

Now Robinson is fun to watch for all the wrong reasons, probably best for him to be moved inside to guard at this point.

While Buckner and Spriggs is still my favorite 1-2 combo, Jack and Eli Apple would really be able to fix a lot of our issues in coverage.
